    Jotform Grid Report - IP Address Field Not Displayed

    Hi,

    This form: http://form.jotformpro.com/form/31831629931962

    I have created 2 identical grid and html reports.

    For the grid report: http://www.jotform.com/grid/31832055901044

    IP address does not display

    For the html report: http://www.jotform.com/table/31832224113037

    IP address does display

    The grid report is not pulling the IP address field through ... although it is definately selected in the report wizard.

    Hi Pinoytech,

    Appreciate it. This is just a test form. I'm not interested in just this form working.

    Can you clarify that the problem does not exist now ... or should I test it again with a new form and any 'live' forms for clients.

    Right ... you didn't fix it ... you just fixed it for that spreadsheet as I've done another test and the same thing has happened.

    So, what's the story with this then ... there is a fundamental bug with the Grid Report that will not pull in the IP Address ... and you thought you'd do a little fix on my temp spreadsheet and i'd be in heaven.

    It's not that I'm not grateful ... its just that the reporting of bugs is a two-way thing ... ande I'm not being paid.

    Sorry ... but all this testing of this untested SAAS software gets my goat.

    I've spent weeks testing this stuff for you ... and I bet you by the end of today you'll have 5 separate standalone bug fixes to address just with your crappy File Upload function that's been around since 2010

    Thanks ... please advise so I'm clear and can go back to making some money with my business.

    Hi Again Mark, thank you for bringing this additional information to our attention and I am sorry about the frustration this is causing you. I doublechecked this by making 4 separate tests and I think at this point it's clear that there's an obvious bug in the Grid Report at least since the IP does not show up at all whereas the Table Report worked fine with no problems on my end. I will report my findings and tests along with your provided details to our developement team to get it fixed asap.

     

    I feel this issue required some detailed attention and testing so here's what I did below to check it. I left everything Selected when I Created the Reports for both Test Forms.

     

    Test I:  I cloned your form to check it.

    Hi,

    I have got it working .... try looking at the submissions page and you will notice that some of the fields are not checked there. check them -recreate the grid table and it works.

    Let me know - needs addressing though eh?

    That is actually correct and something I forgot to look at for the moment when I was originally testing the Reports themselves. I do apologize for my mishap on that part. The IP is not displaying on the form because the option in your submissions isn't selected so by doing that it's not going to display the IP at all including on your Reports since in the Submission Control Panel is where everything connected to your submitted data is generated.

    However, as far as I know I think that if the Grid Report IP option is selected then it should automatically turn that IP Address in the Report to an " ON/Checked " status for the form to avoid doubling the work for everyone which causes this type of confusion. It looks like this is working already in that aspect for the Table Report but not the Grid Report. I will need to check on this some more to find out whether it is actually working that way yet or if it's a bug since it appears that it should be working anyway like that similar.

    Hey Mark, I happen to agree with you on that aspect. I also just wanted to let you know that I've check on this some more and left a Ticket Open about it as a Bug Report since I think this is a small bug or possibly was something that might've been overlooked somehow. Both should be working similar indeed and thank you again for pointing it out.

    @markashton,

    First of all, sorry if I wasn't able to provide you more information on how did I fixed the issue.

    Upon invistigating the issue, I found out that if IP address is not selected on the submission, it won't be visible on Grid Report.

    I am not sure if I understood your question correctly. Do you want to ask how you can remove any fields form the grid listing report?

    Please be noted that we cannot answer multiple questions in one thread. Your question related to removing form fields from report is different form the question for which this thread was started. We would appreciate if you start a new thread for your question.
