How often is my work Autosaved when editing a form?Asked by FranklinOISP on July 11, 2013 at 04:45 PM
I made a series of edits on a form I created, but when I logged in to continue working, the edits were gone. I thought I recalled actively saving and seeing the edits autosaving, but they apparently did not, even though I previewed and tested the changes. Any explanations? Knowing how often edits are saved may help me remember to save regularly on my own and avoid this in the future.

Your work is autosaved just after you do a change in the form. However, I will recommend you not to relay in the Autosave function, this will save your work but just for the moment you are editing your fom, when you leave the page and get back later your changes won't be there.
To have your changes saved always, you need to always click on the save Icon. Click on it after you do some change and want to test it or preview it, in that way you will be sure that when you leave the builder and at later time you get back to it, your changes will be there.

Thanks for your response; I'll be sure to save after every edit. Since I do recall saving/seeing autosave after at least some of the edits, is there any explanation for why none of the edits are there? Or, more helpfully, is there any way to retrieve what I had done? I did a large number of changes, and when I reopened it, they were all gone except the change to the title of the form.

Thank you for your suggestion. This worked to retrieve most of the edits, although not all of them. One missing edit in particular perplexes me - the addition of a PayPal link.
I had added a PayPal link and worked on it a few times, even testing it by previewing the form then doing a test submission. Although I had set up two types of payments I would be receiving, I had not yet entered the PayPal account information. After the test submissions, therefore, I had been redirected to the PayPal page but indicated that there was an error (which I had anticipated since I had not entered the PayPal account information yet). The PayPal link, however, is no longer on my form.
Is it possible that the addition of the PayPal link was not retained because I had not entered the PayPal account information?
This might be the cause of clearing the cache on your browser and might need to enter the account details again.
