Hi, For Your Need You can Use Our Conditional Logics.

    Here are the Steps:

    1. Add a radio button list or Check box list.

    2. Add a text field to get the Other Option.

    3. Now select Conditions Option from the Setup and Embed tab

    4. Select Show Hide(By Default it is selected) in the Prompt and click Next.

    5. Now Set the Conditions Like this.

Save the Condition and Preview Your Form.

Yes, I knew there was that option, the reason I was looking to do it the
other way is that I don't want them to think that we are just going to stick
them in a room with someone random. I want them to know right away that they
    will choose their roommate.
I'm afraid they will hit no right away without seeing the other option pop
up. And I can't add a subtext on this type of questions to add it. Or at
least it doesn't give me the option to add subtext.
Thanks anyway. I'll figure something out.

What about adding a text hint on the right of that radio button option?

Take a look at this form: http://form.jotformpro.com/form/32065939521961?

I just added a Free text HTML, and Shrink the radio Button and Free Text HTML Field to fit as a hint.

    Hope this information helps you.

    Thank you.
