Within this form if you incorrectly fill in the captcha, it takes you to a blank page with the captcha at the top of it. Is there any way to change this to an error message within the form?

I believe thats how captcha works. If you enter incorrect captcha value, you will be asked to enter it again. If your captcha value is correct your submission will be accepted.
I am sorry but there is now way to change the captch error message.

I understand that but instead of just having you retype it, it takes you to an all white page with only the captch box. I was asking if there was a way to make you retype it on the same page.

We understand it, sorry for the confusion.
Like my colleague, that's how it is designed. There's nothing to worry about it actually since the inputted data on fields are captured already and once the captcha is corrected, it will be delivered to it's recipient without any loss.
