Hello, (I've followed a May 2013 thread on this same issue -- and I only see in June it was stamped "Solved" but with no indication of how it was solved.
I went ahead and removed the integration to Dropbox, cloned my form, and re-integrated Dropbox as was asked of the previous poster. I then tested the newly integrated clone form, submitted an image (using URL as method). From submitter standpoint, everything seemed to work good.
However, Dropbox only contains a PDF and no image.
This is my cloned form: http://www.jotform.com//?formID=32168966854166
Thank you in advance, hopefully this is fixable... customer really wants this feature :)

I created a clone of your form and was able to integrate dropbox properly and upon testing the clone,
I filled the forms and uploaded an image.
The uploaded image is within the PDF submission data as a Link.
You need to click the link to be able to view the image, it is not going to be available in your dropbox seperately with the submission data.
Kindly let us know if you have further questions or inquiry.
Thank you for using JotForm.

Thank you for your response, and investigation... I just tried again, this time Uploading an image from my computer. The file did indeed attach itself to the PDF as a link.
But, my initial instance was "Submitting a File" via URL method. Would you please try that as an example?
The Reason I was hoping to get this to work is a rather messy solution to a problem, that perhaps you can suggest. Originally the customer asked me if I could have the form populate an image of the item once selected. There will be 42 Cake styles... My messy solution, is I was thinking either/and referencing a separtate html page of the styles... and possibly on that page asking the user to copy/paste the image onto the form... I think the Cake vendor is worried that there is too likely the chance for people selecting the wrong Cake number, and that the selected image on the actual order (like a shopping cart) would be good.
But 42 Cake images is too many to put on the form... and I couldn't figure out a way to put a table of small images if I wanted to. I experimented w/ HTML text, and best I could achieve was inserting a link on one of my test flles.
Anyway? Can you try Adding Image via URL method? Thank you again.

Yes that is possible with Ink-Filepicker
Once you add this field to your form, there is an option where you can upload via image URL. (As seen above.)
Kindly let us know if you need further assistance.
Happy to help. :)
Thank you for using JotForm.

Thank you, but that is not my issue. I want *customers* to be able to upload an image *via* URL method. I tested the form, and CAN use the URL method... HOWEVER, the attachment doesn't arrive in Dropbox (or as link in PDF)
In other words, When the User fills out the form and sends an attachment... Their attachment comes through via Upload from PC... but NOT when they paste a URL.
I was asking you if you can look into this method of uploading an image (via URL) as an end-user using the form... Again, My problem is that I never receive *those* attachments.

You are actually receiving the file as a URL. If you will click on the Image Uploaded to your form using InkFilePicker, you should be able to view the images in "new tab" with its full direct URL.
You just need to access form submissions page and click the Image URL's in the Form Submissions Page. Screenshot:

I feel like I am not being heard/understood on this issue. I understand that the attachments/uploads arrive as LINKS.
I am saying that I have tested TWO METHODS of UPLOADING images via Filepicker as the end-user using the form.
The first method, I uploaded a file from my PC... this worked. (I received a link to the uploaded file, both in my email and Dropbox) and yes, it shows up in the submissions page.
The second method FAILED to deliver any link or indication of an upload. That method was where the customer selects Pick a File > URL method... i.e., they see an image on the web, copy/paste the link in the form to upload the image.
From their end, they think it was successful, image displays and says "uploaded". From my end, it never arrives (as a link) on my submissions page, Dropbox PDF, or anywhere.
Additionally, Filepicker has allowed me to upload an EXE in my next test. I see no Extension modifications for this option.. nor is there any way when receiving (links) in email or Dropbox PDF to know that the link is to an EXE (or malicious file type). All in all, not happy with Filepicker at all.
Also, I noticed that when I click "Properties > Show Properties" for the Filepicker button, it displays "API Key: Error". I mention in case there is something with this... but from all indications, my Dropbox integration is fine and working properly.

Understood now. Thanks for the additional information. Let me create a ticket about this issue as I am able to replicate it to my end. You should receive an email notification via this thread for the updates.
While waiting for updates, you may consider disabling the "Upload from URL" feature with InkFilePicker to avoid confusions to your customers/users end.

Hi I was able to replicate the issue. So I made a patch for it.
Unfortunately when you upload a file to FilePicker using the URL, size isn't being read upon upload so what you will get is a 'N/A' text for the filesize next to its filename. ( Look image )
Please do confirm if uploading using the URL is now working from your end.
- Oscar77Answered on August 09, 2013 at 03:44 PMNew response receivedHi Kenneth,
Thanks for investigating this and creating a patch. I tested and it worked for me.
But all in all, I still have issues w/ Filepicker that prevent my using it. I did a test and submitted the URL to a JPG online. Firstly, the submission comes over as a link *that* when hovered over in email lets me know the extension/filetype... but in PDF just displays the PDF named link. You know that addage about not clicking on links from unknown persons?? Even the 'hovering' on the email submitted link is not customer friendly.
I should explain that my interest in Filepicker was b/c customer wanted a way when user selects one of 47 Cake Designs the image of that Cake would appear on the form and be submitted. The only thing I could come up with was thinking that User could be directed to a separate page w/ Cake Styles, copy the image URL and paste it into the form. (And that is probably a pretty clunky solution). BTW, I would love it if Jotform had an option that could accommodate this. ((I tried and failed experimenting w/ CSS and or Free HTML portion to add a Table of the images)) Do you have any suggestions.
Lastly, on another ticket and issue, a few days ago I was able to upload an EXE file w/ Filepicker (using the Upload from my computer method). There isn't really any validation that is user-friendly to me the average user.. and there is with the standard upload button.

Can you please kindly create separate threads about the Filepicker links and your Case Styles form? In this way we will be able to address the issues in a proper way.
Your concerns about the executable uploads have been already escalated to our Development Team, and we will inform you via this thread once we have any solution to this.
Thank you for your cooperation.
- JotForm SupportkennethAnswered on August 09, 2013 at 04:19 PM
The exe upload thing, read your thread here . I just replied there about it :)
I see some of the issues you mentioned, we will try to take a look at them them one by one.
This thread has been resolved. Just please create a separate thread so that we can further assist you with your other concerns.
- Oscar77Answered on August 09, 2013 at 04:53 PMNew response receivedThank you, I will try to keep to one issue at a time -- I think I went into a thinking mode of pros vs cons with this tool and features/performance. I am totally impressed w/ Jotform's responsiveness to my concerns thus far. It tells me, that if you guys are this good at fixing issues that come up... Jotform is going to be even better.
