    Field "Rules"

Asked by woodyinc on May 12, 2011 at 12:46 PM

I have a registration form for my people and they choose a password on it. The password they register has to follow the rules of another system I enter it into.

i.e.- 6 or more characters, one number, one CAP letter one lower letter.

Is there a way to set a rule for the field they enter their chosen PW into?

Unfortunately we do not have such a feature. Jotform isn't really intended as a registration system but since you're using it as one, there might be a workaround involving conditions.

You could probably validate the password field by adding conditions such as:

If "Password" does not contain "A" then Show "Your password should contain at least 1 capital letter" (free text field)

You would need to repeat that condition with the other characters such as B,C,D,E...Z and the numbers 0-9

It can be a pretty daunting task but for now that is the only solution I can think of.

Let me know if you need assistance with creating such a complex password field. Thank you for using Jotform.
