    Why the red error message when uploading an image?

    Hi there,

     

    We're testing our uploader and it gives us a strange red error message whie uploading.  When you click on the red error box a second time, it clears the red as a fake-out, but doesnt actually work as it doesn't actually route the image to your system.  

    Usually photos come through in incomplete submissions.

    We tested on both last year's page and this years (identical to last year with just an image switch) to make sure we hadn't kicked anything off kilter.

     

    Attached are the error screen grab and the grab that lists the photo's name with no photo.

    Please let us know what is wrong so we can have our contest.

    Thanks for contacting us.

    I have cloned your form and made some tests and I had no problems uploading the image. The red error message appears because it is set as Required, also i check the submission and it was not in the incomplete ones. Please watch this videos to see how I made the proccess with no problems.

    But if you are having an extra issue apart of the red error message, kindly try to reembed your form to your website, I would also recommend you to try disabling the Required function.

    Hello, according to the red box you mean this is not a mistake, it's actually the aspect that takes the file uploader to show it is a required field, you can still change to not show this colo by injecting custom css code to your form.

    You should inject this custom css code to your form:

    .form-line-error {background: none !important;}

    Following this steps:


    Regarding whether the file is actually uploaded to the server the answer is yes, you could do a test with some pending submission check at details and you will see the Field "Upload photo #1" with his corresponding upload filename.

    Sorry, I didn't understand your message (maybe there is a comma missing somewhere)>

    By red box - I mean the shaded rectangle in my screen grab. Ordinarily, it doesnt do that.  Are you saying this is not an error?  If it is not an error, why doesn't the image propogate to jotform submissions?  I did a test. Grab above.

    As @EliezerN wrote at his last post, the red box appears because it is a "Requiered" Field, you can get rid of it by injecting  custom css code, I proceeded to clone your form so you can see how it looks http://jotformpro.com/form/32175142331948 .The file  was uploaded, in order to watch the uploaded photo on an pending submission, should  complete the submission manually.

    How do you know the images uploaded?  They are not in our submissions dashboard.

    When I check our submissions, all I see are the two that I uploaded without images?

    Am I just looking in the wrong place?  Or will it not show the image unless someone has paid?

     

    It seems as though last year, we got images without payments.

    Hi,

    Just to explain further on the red color on the Upload field.

    This happen because the field is set as required* . If you click on this field and not provide answer/upload, it will become red colored to give hint on the requirement of the field.
    This is as designed.

    If you do not want it to appear as such, you should then try the method described by  guilledutra, and that is by injecting the CSS code in the form

    .form-line-error {background: none !important;}

    You will only be able to see the submissions and the uploaded file for successful completed transaction  on payment fields.

    I did a test submission on your form, but since I cannot complete the payment, it is then locaed in your submissions page incomplete payments box.
