Can I have optional required fields?

Asked by Ensemble on August 12, 2013 at 03:43 PM

I have multiple submit buttons in my forms and need required fields for some people filling in some areas of my form. However, for others that don't need to fill this in, I allow them to submit immediately.

Issue - when clicking submit earlier, there are still required fields after that don't apply for those people. Is there any way to keep the required fields afterwards for those who need to complete this area?

    Thank you for contacting us.

We can not change required / non-required status based on some conditional logic, but we can do something similar by hiding / showing required fields with conditional logic. In other words, we can hide required fields based on user input.

Here is a link to related material:

    Smart Forms Using Conditional Logic

I have created a basic example on the following form. The form is showing different required fields based on the 'Have you ever used our service?' selection.

You can also Clone mentioned above form to check the back end.

I am not sure about the logic behind your form, so it is quite hard to provide some ready to use solution. If you have some requirements, we can try to check them.
