    How to create dependencies among field values?

    Asked by SystemAdmin on June 10, 2010 at 02:48 AM
    I am new to JotForm and this is is how I see things with regard to making Conditions:

    Data:

    Unit      Department       Employee
    1                A                       A
    2                B                       B
    3                C                       C

    If Unit = 1
      then
        Show = Department

    If Department = A
       then
         Show = Employee

    This is what I have so far. What I need is a method on how to show the corresponding Department and Employee values for each unit. So, I want:

    If Unit = 1
      then
         Show = A

    If Unit = 1
       then
         Show = A

    If Unit = 2
      then
         Show = B

    If Unit = 2
       then
         Show = B

    Is my question clear? How can I resolve this issue?

    These seems to be same:
    If Unit = 1
      then
         Show = A

    If Unit = 1
       then
         Show = A

    These also same:

    If Unit = 2
      then
         Show = B

    If Unit = 2
       then
         Show = B

    You should be able to accomplish these easily with conditions as well. It can check if an input field equals to "1" or "2".

    Yes, it can check if an input field is equal to 1 or 2 but it cannot show the field values A and B. How can I fix this limitation?

    I am still not clear what you are trying to do. Can you make the simplest possible form that can describe what you are trying to do? Can you describe it on a form that has only two or three questions? Please create such form and send us the URL of it.
