    "Thank You message" makes it impossible to submit a new question without refreshing

    Asked by qbrick on August 28, 2013 at 08:55 AM

    When someone submits a message using the form, they will see a thank you message. This is fine, but I need the thank you message to go away so the user can submit a new question if they want to. Right now, this is only possible if they refresh the entire page. That is not usable. :(

    Thank you

    Johan

    One possible solution might be to make a page that says "Thank You" and then redirect users back to the form using JavaScript.

    I need to avoid refreshing the page at all, because there is a video playing on the page.

    If it means skipping a "thank you" altogether, maybe that's fine, but I cannot find a way to disable it?

    @gbrick

    I think there's no way to prevent the page from refreshing, if the Aytekin's suggestion doesn't work for you. Maybe a workaropund would be to create a page that includes the video and embed the form to that page using the LightBox code to embed it. Please see this simple example:

    https://shots.jotform.com/eliezer/form-uploads/example-form.html

    Clik the next link to see the code of the page where the video and the form are embeded: http://pastie.org/8277459

    I hope this helps, however if you need further assistance, don't hesitate to contact us.

    Thanks

    Is it really impossible to show the form again after a submission? If it is a deliberate choice that the user should only be able to use the form once, I really question your logic.

    I apreciate you help involving the lightbox implementation, but I can only use the embed-code or the iframe-code. No pop-ups of any kinds.

    I have tried adding the embed-code in my custom thank you message, so that upon submission the form is shown again. But the code is removed when I hit save.

    What about the iframe-code? Isn't possible to have it refresh (and by that show the form again) when a user hits submit?

    I'm not sure if there is another method to accomplish what you need if the suggested ways don't work for you. However, I will make a search and try to find a solution and if I'm able to find something will notify you later. I will do my best, however, I can't promise you anything.

    The form can be used more than once by using the link of your form in the Thank You Page Redirect URL. When someone submits the form he/she will be redirected to the form again but this will refresh the entire page. You can learn about this at this guide: http://www.jotform.com/help/38-Redirecting-Users-to-a-Different-Page

    I will notify you if I'm able to find a workaround.

    Thanks

    Thank you support, I appreciate it. It really is essential to me.

    I'm already using the "Thank You Page Redirect URL" to refresh the entire site, making it possible for the users to submit a new question. But if at all possible, please help me find a way that doesn't require refreshing the site since a video is being played on the same URL.

    With regards to using an iFrame, isn't it possible to say:

    On submit -> refresh iFrame

    And thus avoid refreshing anything else on the site?

    Please try to point the Custom Thank You URL to the same form. I think that this might work as described.

    Executing the redirect also refreshes the page, right? I have to find a solution that doesn't refresh the entire page.

    What about simply disregarding "thank you's" altogether. So after submit you still see the form.

    You are right. I am sorry, I thought that the Custom Redirect URL is being loaded on the same iFrame window.

    The workaround is to use a Custom Thank You Page with added link to the same form. This will not reload your main page. The downside of this method is that the user will need to manually click on the link as we do not allow custom scripts on our Thank You pages.

    Thank you.

    I need to have the ability upon submission for the user to be directed back to the beginning of the form. Any updates on this? This is a make or break for me.
