Can I make calculations?Asked by Ariel Leon on September 02, 2013 at 05:43 PM
I've been looking for form builder. There are so many in the marked. You are the number one on the list.
I want to know if I can get what I need building my form with JotForm. if yes I will immediately buy a subscription.
I know you have a lot of templates and very good design tools, but besides that I will need to perform some calculation.
I will try to do my best in order to you undestand me well.
The master page must have a page named: "Rates Calculation," containing a form where the customer will type four numerical values:
weigh(lbs), deep(inch), width(inch), and height(inch).
and an option from a drop box(with 16 options).
Using this five values I need to perform some logical process and calculation. I will try to explain using a basic programming code. The syntax is no important in this case I just want to explain you in another way
int Wg //Weigh in pounds. Value typed in a numeric field by customer
int D //Deep in inch. Value typed in a numeric field by customer
int W //Width in inch. Value typed in a numeric field by customer
int H //Height in inch. Value typed in a numeric field by customer
int index // Index number from drop box. Selected choice by customer in the drop box. Location
double Pf //Final price
double Pv //Price per volume
double Pw //Price per weigh
Pw = Wg x 1.65 // Price according to the weigh
Pv = D x W x H/1728 // Price according to the volume.
if Pv>Pw // The bigger price is the important
Pf = Pv
Pf = Pw
Pf = Pf + Table(Pw,index) // Add to the final price handling fees that depend on the weigh and location
The value of Pf (final price) must be shown to customer in any way. Can be as text.
Table is a 17x100 table with fixed values. I also need to know if I can host this table with you or build with your tools. I can do this table using Microsoft Excel for example.
This table should not be visible for customer, this main function is as a reference.
I just need a way to reach my goals.
I have worked hard in order to explain you about my needs, but if I would not reach my goal please just let me know.
Performing the calculations that you outlined above is possible with jotform if you download the source code for your form and add additional scripts that you would need to perform your calculations. For more information on how to get the source code please review this link.
