Google Sheet integration with wrong date format

Asked on October 26, 2020 at 8:24 AM

    Hi There

please help, when integrating with google sheets the wrong date format show

i have read forum and looked at going into sheet and modifying date format there but
that does not correct the error if date is uploaded incorrectly.

    example

    date entered on form

    3rd September 2020

    date showing on google sheet
    9-03-2020

so even if i do the data format it can do put correct date.

    regards

Hello Colin - Apologies for the inconvenience.

I assume this is the form you're working on: https://www.jotform.com/201264235414344

I checked the Date fields on it and can't seem to find a "3rd September 2020" format. Anyhow, you can change the Date Format on the properties of your Date Picker fields to match the formatting on your Google Sheets.

    Hope this information helps.

    Hello There

After checking your message, I was able to create a clone and set up a quiz: https://form.jotform.com/202996098022965.

I wasn't able to reproduce the issue, this my result:

Could you please try to remove the Google Sheet integration and reintegrate with a new file just to verify if the Google Sheet is having issues?

ok I have removed old integrated file and compiled a new one

the issue is when we integrate within google sheets

some of the entries show up with the date (dd-mm-yyyy) separator "-"

and some entries show up with the date (dd/mm/yyyy) sperator "/"

once you try and change the date separator from"-" into "/" then the date format changes

and because I need to have file in  CSV to manipulate in other programs I must be able to have date separator has "/"

    Hello Colin,

As I have verified, the escalated ticket is currently on our important list and still being work upon by a designated team.

Would it be okay if you try to integrate the form into Google Sheets via Zapier for the time being?: https://zapier.com/apps/jotform/integrations

Let's see if it will make a difference, and I have also cleared your form cache. Kindly give it a try, and please do let us know how it goes. Thank you.

hi have had a quick look at zapier,.

looks very complicated to set up don't think I have time to even start trying to use.

just need simple access to data via google sheets or excel with correct formatting has the programme is supposed to do.

    regards

Have Jusy tried using the new tables format downloaded as excel and CSV

same things happen, incorrect date saperators copy over "-" instead of the used "/"

and some dates are backward (20-7-2020 reads 7-20-2020) it should read 20/07/2020

the form used is my main form "ind lift trucks"

I understand there any many issues being worked on, but im now in limbo unable to move forward with invoicing and reports until I can resolve (im having to go into every file and manual change)

    Hello Colin,

We are sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.

Unfortunately, we have not received an update as of now.

As a workaround, I would suggest you use the Date Picker widget where you would be able to change the hyphen to a slash.

I hope this would be helpful.

    Hello @BuryTrainingServices,

The Google Integration seems to work smoothly with all its features.

We figured out that the problem was caused by changing the 'Format' option of the date picker field you used on the form after the integration was configured.

If you change the format of the date picker between two submissions, new submission data will be saved with the new format settings.

After you set the DatePicker format precisely, all new submissions will saved in the date format you prefer.

Your previous submissions are not affected by the new format settings.

    Thanks for your understanding.

    Regards.
