    JQuery conflict with Feedback Button

    Asked by techtriadinc on May 22, 2011 at 07:18 PM

    I know there are several questions about the feedback button and JQuery and I'm adding mine. We have a JQuery slideshow on a page and want a feedback button on the right. As soon as we add the feedback button, the slideshow stops working. Used your advice to visit this page: http://docs.jquery.com/Using_jQuery_with_Other_Libraries and used the script below, where the red text indicates the div that we're supposed to name. (this goes in the head tag)

           <script>
         jQuery.noConflict();

         // Use jQuery via jQuery(...)
         jQuery(document).ready(function(){
           jQuery("div").hide();
         });

         // Use Prototype with $(...), etc.
         $('featured_slide').hide();
       </script>

    Should we have given the feedback button a <div> name and used that in the red text instead because using the slide div hides the slideshow.

    The above script doesn't work - or we don't understand your suggestion. Can you help us all by giving us the code to use to make the Jotform feedback button work with typical JQuery code, like slideshows? I'm including all the JQuery calls in our current document. Link to the page can be provided. (the slideshow lives in the <div> called "featured_slide")

    jquery-1.4.1.min.js
    jquery.easing.1.3.js
    jquery.timers.1.2.js
    jquery.galleryview.2.1.1.min.js
    jquery.galleryview.setup.js

    Again, thanks for your help and always great support!

    Hi techtriadinc,

    Thanks for posting your concern here. May we ask the website where there is conflict between your JotForm and Jquery codes?

    I have added this to our bug list and since the issue with Jquery is already a known issue, our programmers are already working hard to fix this with high priority. We'll let you know as soon as updates becomes available. Our apologies for the inconvenience.

    In the meantime, this temporary solution may be applicable to you while we fix this problem - http://www.jotform.com/answers/20939-Feedback-Form-does-not-appear-after-jQuery-Plugin-Scroll-to-Top-installed-in-blogspot

    I tried that suggestion with the iframe but puts a visible iframe on the viewed page. These are links:

    http://gamma.greensborobeautiful.org/index.php (this page has no feedback button and the slideshow works)

    http://gamma.greensborobeautiful.org/index2.php -(no feedback button, the iframe shows the existing homepage at the bottom and the slideshow doesn't work; I didn't change the size of the iframe) this page uses the code below:

    <script src="//www.jotform.com/min/g=feedback" type="text/javascript">
    new JotformFeedback({
    formId: "2654355284",
    buttonText: "Donate Now",
    base: "http://www.jotform.com/",
    background:'#F59202',
    fontColor:'#FFFFFF',
    buttonSide: "right",
    buttonAlign: "right",
    type:false,
    width: 700,height: 500});
    </script></script><iframe src="//www.greensborobeautiful.org" frameborder=0 width=100% height=100% scrolling=auto align=middle></iframe>

    [note: you have two </script> tags in this demo code. Is that right?]

    http://gamma.greensborobeautiful.org/index3.php - (slideshow doesn't work, feedback button doesn't show up on the right or anywhere else) this page uses the standard feedbacl code below :

    <script src="//www.jotform.com/min/g=feedback" type="text/javascript">
    new JotformFeedback({
    formId: "2654355284",
    buttonText: "Donate Now!",
    base: "http://www.jotform.com/",
    background:'#F59202',
    fontColor:'#FFFFFF',
    buttonSide: "right",
    buttonAlign: "right",
    type:false,
    width: 700,height: 500});
    </script>

    Again, thanks for your help. I'm sure a lot of folks need this to work with JQuery.

    Hi Sue,

    Thanks for the update. Kindly use the code found here instead to come up with this page as a temporary solution while this is being fixed. You can adjust the height of the iframe and the color of the feedback button according to your needs. Please try it and let us know how it goes for you.

    Wow, I didn't get an email about this but my thanks to whoever helped. So grateful when I have happy clients. Will try this shortly.

    BTW, they have a pro Jotform account that we manage for them. We're pretty profound resellers of Jotform :) Do you have a reseller program?

    Hello Sue,

    Unfortunately we do not have such a program right now but we appreciate your efforts in promoting Jotform to prospective clients.

    A report ticket has been opened about your issue regarding Jquery and feedback button conflicts. Our developers have been notified and will be working on it as soon as they are available. Thank you for your continuing support of Jotform.

    Sorry for the late response.

    I have included the js libraries you have send to me:

    jquery-1.4.1.min.js
    jquery.easing.1.3.js
    jquery.timers.1.2.js
    jquery.galleryview.2.1.1.min.js
    jquery.galleryview.setup.js

    And later on I added the "Feedback Button" o the page and there was no conflict. Maybe it would be better if you can create a temprory page with the conflict created so I could see the problem clearly.

    Thank you.

    See the page here: http://delta.greensborobeautiful.org/index2.php

    jquery-1.4.1.min.js
    jquery.easing.1.3.js
    jquery.timers.1.2.js
    jquery.galleryview.2.1.1.min.js
    js/jquery.galleryview.setup.js

    and

    p7pmm/p7PMMscripts.js (runs the menu dropdown but I've used that on tons of other sites with no issues for the feedback button.

    In the page above, I didn't both to change the z-index of the menu or the contact form just to get it done faster so the form is sized wrong, the button is in the wrong place and the forms shows up BEHIND the menu - all fixable, I just didn't take the time. But the slideshow still doesn't work.

    I put the form code above the closing body tag. Where did you put yours?

    Hello all,

    We have reloaded the feedback option. The conflict problems are solved. You can take the new code from Embed Form wizard.

    Thank you.
