Barcode scanner does not open camera

the questions relate to this form https://form.jotform.com/203216188210142

    1) the take a photo & barcode scanner widget at times, start and work fine, at other times they seem to not call the camera but call a "upload a file" option. Hence you are locked out of the widgets function to capture a barcode and or an image/photo. I did notice this happened in internet explorer and edge-.. But it just happened to me last night using chrome. Which always worked before. I did observe however that I had a zoom meeting going and perhaps the zoom app grabbed the interface somehow? can you assist with this because we cant have our users not be able to use the camera/barcode widget

    2)

in my form we have two fields to capture the serial number off a specimen. Either a) with the barcode widget or b) manually if the barcode fails. I have currently set the barcode widget first in the work flow and IF the barcode has a value it hides the manual entry.. One problem is that either of these MUST be included in my form as required, However if the barcode fails (for whatever reason- perhaps see above) how can i code my form so that you go from the barcode widget to the manual entry serial number widget. I.e. if the bar code fails as it is required now, it wont let me proceed on the form. I NEED this serial number to be required for sure, but if the bar code fails, i need to be able to enter the serial number with the other widget, However MAKE SURE i have a value in one of the two fields. I don't need both.. How do I configure my widgets to match with workflow please. thanks

    3)

I want to have my users be able to find the nearest FEDEX drop off location to their zip code. Since my users have already entered their zip code, is there a way to take that zip code value and post that to either the fedex site (via a link) that would show the nearest drop box location (perhaps in a cool way with a map or infor from fexed,) or perhaps to an api for fedex that would or could display that information into my form for the user...? This would be way cool.. Rather than simply giving them a link to find the fedex location near them

WE are doing covid testing in home so it is really important to make this as easy as we can for the consumer user.

    thanks Chuck

    Greetings Chuck.

Can you please make sure that the permission for accessing the camera is properly set? Also, make sure your camera is not already in use by other software.

THanks for answering. Ill be sure to move separate questions to separate threads from now on. on this one, I'm still having problems.

When I embed the form on our website and go to it with my browser, it seemed to work fine before, but now on my client when the photo widget comes up, instead of being able to capture a photo, it then asks to upload a file. At the SAME time if I open the form in the edit mode, then try preview on the same client, the preview works fine. Weird.. So perhaps something in the browser itself, from an app having used the camera is holding onto the camera call?? but then why would in the same client within the browser, using the preview mode on the form edit the widget work

    Weird.. Any suggestions?

Lastly is there a way to force the display of the take a photo widget such that the "take a photo" button is always displayed? I noticed that if the browser is enlarged at times, you only see the top of the frame and users don't know to use the side scroll to look down. Instead I get support calls asking how to take the photo.. ugh.. Thanks

Bojan thanks again.. clearly i'm keeping you busy.. lol. ok so I restarted my browser just to see. the form i have is embedded on this word press page

    http://www.qrmds.com/test-page-for/

When my client tries to do the photo (the first element in this case) the photo widget defaults to "choose a file". When I then go into jotform and edit the form and then preview it the widget works like a champ..!! so weird.. any suggestions..???

    thanks

We would like to apologize for any inconvenience. Since you have mentioned that the widget works as expected when being accessed from its direct link, may we suggest that you try if by updating the embed codes you are using on the website you linked from the JS Embed Script to the Iframe Embed Codes, the issues you are having will be fixed?

Please give it a try and let us know if you need any further assistance.
