Extract text characters

This is exactly what Im trying to do, only I have my client first and last name already set up as a single entry field. Is there a way I can do the operation below with the field I already have set up?

Unfortunately, a FULL NAME field is treated as a single data so it is presented into the Jotform Sheets on a single column/cell only.

You can use separate Short text entry fields for the first and last names so that you can get the first and last name independently, but this will only work on new submissions.

Or yes, you can just export the submission into an Excel/CSV file and separate them there as a workaround.

Also, instead of deleting the existing name field, you can simply hide it. Because deleting it will delete the data from submissions as well.
