    Is it possible to sell digital goods or services via Google Checkout?

    Asked by jgoncalves on May 27, 2011 at 11:51 AM

    I ask you this question since these types of goods do not need shipping, and I do not see the option for customization when I define my digital goods or services. Therefore, what happens when someone will pay via Google Checkout regarding shipping? Is there a way I can define that the items will be electronically delivered using Jotform?

    Yes, you can use Google Checkout for digital goods. We have that option on PayPal, because it is possible to not enter any shipping info and simply use your PayPal account to send payments. On Google Checkout, there is no need for such option since the user has to enter address information anyways.

    If you see a need for such an option, we can investigate the Google Checkout API and provide such option if available. Please let me know if I should create a feature request ticket for this thread?

    I appreciate if you can include this option when creating the product in Jotform. Google checkout provides the following info and code for digital delivery products.

    "Digital delivery

    Unlike physical goods, digital goods do not need to be shipped (or picked up in a store). If you will email your customer with instructions for accessing digital items, then you need to identify the items on your site that are digital goods. To identify a digital item, add the product-digital CSS class to any HTML tag for that item as demonstrated in the example below.

    <div class="product">
    <img class="product-image" src="beethoven_cd.jpg">
    <span class="product-title product-digital">Moonlight Sonata</span>
    Price: <span class="product-price">9.99</span>
    <div role="button" alt="Add to cart" tabindex="0" class="googlecart-add-button">

    If all of the items in an order are digital goods, then Google Checkout will not display shipping options for the items. In addition, you can not use carrier-calculated shipping methods for orders that contain digital items."

    Thanks for your attention.
