is it possible to make a radio drop down default to a given name

IE I need to make sure that one part of the form is in a null state before actioning, another action. Using radios and conditions the form will be designed in two halfs one heading (de employment) has a futher radio to selct options , the second Half will be (instruct) but if 1st half is left in a selected state  then this interfears with the 2nd half , it sounds confusing.

when using a radio if I can get it to always default back to a set radio heading then I think I can work this . just cant find how to action this and make a default heading.

    Thanks for contacting us.

I'm afraid I've not fully understood your concern, we would appreciate if provide more information about what you are trying to achieve.

However, if you need to make a Radio Button option defaul, just follow these steps:

    1. While editing the form click on the Radio Button fields and choose Selected

    2. Select the option you need to set as Default.

Now if you need to set a Drop-down option as defaul, just follow this steps:

    1. While editing your form click on the Drop-down field and choose Selected.

    2. Then, select the option  you need to set as default.

I hope this helps, however, let us know if you need further assistance with this or open a new thread to make nonrelated questions.

No that is not what I am trying to achive . ok here we go

    on this form

you will see I have  a radio button 1st that allows you to select either de-employ or instruct. At present all that is available is the de-employ stuff.

under the De-emply heading is a radio selection menu, this selects one of three surveyors, this will finally be directed to the said surveyor on submit. with default text giving 14 days notice of dismissal

the second selection from the 1st radio menu is to instruct surveyors which will work the same way to the same people but this time the default text will be to instruct a surveyor to act.

my problem arises should a reader 1st look and select a de-emply surveyor and then change the 1st radio selection to instruct  this leaves the form from the 1st selection still visible.

If the radio menus defaulted back to a item that has not got conditions applied to it then I would not have this problem as there would be nothing to display, hence I would only get the heading visable.

I understand about making one item visible in its static state or when a form is 1st opened but I need it to default back to that when the other 1st radio is altered

perhaps you could test this to see what i mean,

1st open form   2nd select De-employ (from 1st radio )   3rd selct any of the three surveyors.

4th return to the 1st radio and change it to "instruct" you will see forms from the last action remain

if the 2nd radio under the heading De-employ defaulted back to IE "please select" when the 1st radio is alterd i would not have a problem.

    hope this better explains

Hello I have cloned your form and fixed your conditions set. I am not sure if this is what you are trying to achieve.

You may try to clone the form above demo form I made and further customize it as you want. Please let us know if this fixes your concerns.

    Thanks for contacting us.

Please see in the next images where is highlighted what my colleagues has fixed on the form conditions:

    Your form conditions:

    My colleague's conditions:

As you can see my colleague created all the conditions based  on the choice of the Demploy/Instruction field. And two conditions (yellow highlighted) using both fields De-Employ/ Instructions and Select Surveyor.

I hope this helps. Please let us know if you need further assistance.
