The empty Input table element is visible in the notification emails

I have a form that I has many hidden fields. Some fields have conditional visibility, but some are permanently hidden. When I fill out the form and submit it, the emails that are generated from the Auto-Responder AND the Notification Email both show the hidden fields. I have attempted to create from scratch, both of the Auto-Responder and the Notification Email, and they both still came through with the empty field visible. I have also made sure that there isn't a default value associated with each of these fields. How can I get these fields hidden from the emails? The fields are large when they are auto printed and make a small order for a lunch, turn into a 4-5 page order submission instead of a simple 1 page.

Thank you for contacting us. The hide empty field option is enabled:

But this will not work on notifications where the default email content has been modified:

Please try creating them again, but do not make any changes to the email content. The empty fields should not be present.

See the example of my clone version of your form:

Those that show zero its due to their default value:

Thank you very much for the reply. My question is now, if I can't edit the email content, do I have no choice but to have the hidden fields with the calculations required for conditional visibility of some fields be visible and present in the emails?

So basically, if I remove the hidden calculation fields from the e-mail content, then all fields will be shown in the email. So there is no way to NOT show the hidden calculation fields from being visible in the email?

I have another online form that I have been using for nearly a year now, and I have created auto-responders and email notifications for it. I have removed the hidden fields that are calculations in this form from the email content by deleting those rows in the email/notification editor. I do not have the other fields that are empty show up on the emails/notifications for this form. Is this different because these are matrix fields and not simple text input fields?

Do you want to hide a particular row of the Input table?

If you want to hide a whole table from the email then you could simply delete that row from the email but this won't work for the input table if you want to delete a certain row of the Input table.

Could you please confirm if you are trying to achieve this in your email?

    Looking forward to your response.

    Thanks.

Ok, in one of my other forms, https://form.jotform.com/200766031456148 , I have several calculation fields that are hidden in the form. The values in these calculation fields are used to conditionally show or hide other fields. In the auto-respond and notification emails I set up for this form, I have deleted those fields from the email content, as they are meaningless to the customers, but requires for functionality of the form. I have also turned on the option to hide empty fields for that form. When a submission comes in from that other form, I do not see all fields in the email, only the fields that I have listed in the "email content" editor and the fields the customer filled out. Why can't I accomplish this same thing on this particular form?

Yes, the same thing is applicable in the current form too. You can delete the fields from the emails if you do not want to show them.

May we know the name of the field which you do not want to show in the emails?

    Looking forward to your response.

    Thanks.

Every time I delete the hidden calculation fields, all of the unfilled matrix fields show up on the emails. Try this, create a new auto-responder for my field, then delete the "breakfast calculation" field. All matrix fields will then be visible in the email.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to hide the empty input rows in the notification email.

Let me forward this as a feature request although we cannot provide an ETA, we will keep you updated via this thread.

    Thank you!

Ok, please look at my other form, https://form.jotform.com/200766031456148. How is it I can remove the hidden calculation fields from the email content editor, and all of the empty fields NOT show up on the notification? In this other form, I have removed many fields, such as epoch difference, remainder hh:mm, hours, minutes, etc. After I removed these fields from the email content, I didn't get the nearly 100 empty fields show up in emails. How come I can do this on that form, but not on my new form?

I created a cloned version of both forms you have mentioned on this ticket. And I was able to reproduce the issue you have described on the form that has the Input Table fields. Please allow me some time to run more tests. I'll update you right away on this ticket with my findings.

We are sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.

I was able to replicate the issue with the cloned version of the form too.

It seems when the emails are edited then the Hide Empty functionality does not work with the Input table. However, if you create a fresh email without any edits to it the Input table will be hidden when it is blank.

Let me forward this to our backend team to check this further.

We will update you when we have news on this.

    Thanks.
