Feature Request - JotForm Data Entry and Record KeepingAsked by CSBK on October 23, 2013 at 12:19 AM
Please provide a way to use jot forms, forms to edit other entries. That is to use forms for record keeping... edit a database. Even allow other users to edit.
I am having challenges understanding exactly what you are trying to achieve. Do you have more information or say an example or screenshot that can help me visualize or understand this issue better? May I know if you want to the fields to be edited within an organization? Since you mentioned editing of database?
Please clarify so that we could further assist you on your inquiry.
Thank you and I will wait for your reponse to assist you further.
Please see example:
Thanks for creating an example.
By looking at your form, it looks like you're trying to create a search entry form where if the searched item matches, it will display the associated data below and allow it to update, edit or even add a new entry. I hate to say this, but this is a little beyond on Jotforms capability. Such features are not supported. It is pretty advanced and not possible.
Jotform form is generally used for capturing users information not for searching entry within the form. I think forms like that is best implemented on your end, you can get an idea out of this workaround: How to Insert/Update Submissions to Your MySQL Database Using PHP.
