Can applicants see that all materials have been submitted?

Asked by iowa4h on October 25, 2013 at 06:12 PM

I am creating a scholarship application form. So an applicant needs to fill out the form with their information. But in addition, they have to ask two people to provide them with letters of recommendation. Right now these letters of recommendations are submitted in a separate Jotform and I manually associate them with the applicant’s submission. But if there is a way to automatically link the recommendation to the applicant I would love to know how that could be done.

The other thing I need is a way for the applicant to be able to go online and see whether the individuals they asked to provide letters of recommendation for them have actually done so. Is there any way to do that using Jotforms or using Jotforms in combination with some other tool out there?

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

I'm not sure if there's a possible way to that. I am only thinking of downloading your reports to excel or csv and combine the submissions that has relation to each other. How to Download Form Submissions to Excel/CSV/PDF

We have apps that lets you format your submissions and embed it to your page. http://views.jotform.io/#. This might help in some way.

You can also use the following workaround to add approve status on submissions. How to Add a Submissions Status

May we also request to open each of your questions to a separate thread so we can assist you better.

    Thanks!

    Hi Elton,

I think the app featured in this video http://views.jotform.io/# might be useful, but I can't follow what is going on in the video. Do you have this information as a - how to... guide?

This is a new App, and unfortunately, we do not have any detailed manual yet. I think that we will improve the usability and add some instructions in the near future.

With this App you can create a custom view for your submissions.

Create List View - Is a total submissions list. It is a template that will be showing all your form submissions one by one.

    Example on web page:

Create Submission View - Is a single submission view, so you can click on the link, and this will show predefined template for individual submission.

You might also need some HTML knowledge to configure these templates.

However, this tool will not be able to link the data from different forms. You can place two different submission view templates on the same page, but the data will not be connected. I do not think that we have any tool that can fetch the data based on some criteria and connect it. This can be probably done with our API and some custom solution.

Please feel free to contact us if you need any further assistance.
