Multiple Choice Does not have add options

    Hello,

I like how multiple choice formulates and displays results in Jotform Tables. However, multiple choice basic widget on FOrm builder does not allow users to add additional options as they go (they can only select other and then add but that is not the same as different entries). So when the "other" added translated to jotform table and when it analysis the data into the various chart formats - it treats each "other entry" as a unique data point all bunched together. Example: Other: tomato, peas, carrots - will all display in data analytics as one bunch instead of individual.

I tried to use checklist, field multiplier, multiples entries, etc and other widgets - problem with those is they do not enter data into Jotform Tables in a way that creates meaningful charts/analysis (each form entry is treated as bunch).

I think a feature for the "Multiple Choice" basic widget where users can add entries would solve this issue. Any help appreciated.

Hi, thank you for contacting JotForm support.

Kindly check on our User Contributed Dropdown widget, where users can dynamically add an option to the dropdown field. You can also create charts/analysis report from the widget values.

    Here's a demo form: https://form.jotform.com/210477543555055

Please check and let us know if it fits your requirements.

Thank you. I saw that before but it does not fit my requirement. Also it does not translate well into JotForm tables.

We have a field called "Past Medical History" - a multiple choice with a "other option". When patients fill this out by checking various choices or add under "Other option" - it becomes just simple text.

What I am looking for is essentially a merger of "Multiple Choice" and "Dynamic Text Box". SO if the choices in Multiple text are not enough, patients can easily add additional entries (each one separately). Then when this data does into JotForm Tables - it can present easily for data analysis / pie charts etc.

Do you see what I am saying?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to merge both the Multiple Choice and Dynamic text.

However, you could use the Multiple Text Field widget. You could show this widget based on the condition that if the other option is selected then show the Multiple Text field widget.

Let us know if this would work for you.

    Thanks.
