Encrypted forms: How can I download encrypted submissions to Excel?

I saw these threads from 5 years ago.

    https://www.jotform.com/answers/619368-Encrypted-Form-Data-remains-encrypted-when-downloaded-on-Excel

    https://www.jotform.com/answers/874437-Encrypted-Form-Downloaded-excel-submissions-remains-encrypted

I am experiencing the same issue. Whenever I export a report it comes up encrypted. I have my private key in place and I am able to see the data in Jotform, but not when I download. I tried using incognito, deleting cache etc.

Is this possible today? Is there a way around this?

    Hi,

With encrypted forms it is not possible to download the submission data, so unfortunately you will be able to access the data only on the JotForm site.

Even as the tickets are old, it seems that the feature request to decrypt/download encrypted submissions has not been implemented due to security reasons.

For now, I would suggest not use the encryption, if you will need to download the submissions. Please note that non-encrypted forms are still secure, and use a 256-bit SSL connection.

If you have any further questions, please let us know and we are happy to help!
