    Embedding my form in a JS Calendar - a difficult one

    Asked by thespanishfactory on November 16, 2013 at 11:56 AM

    Hi people,

    I would like to embed one of my forms inside of this JS Calendar: http://www.thespanishfactory.co.uk/app1/index-test.html

    But all the embeded codes I insert in the "description" do not work. It is treated as text.

    echo '  { "date": "'; echo date("Y-m-d H:i:00",strtotime($initTime. ' + 2 days')); echo '", "type": "test", "title": "FREE Spanish Lesson - 100% Free", "description": "Try our Spanish lessons totally free and without commitment. >", "url": "#" },';

    How can I insert my form inside of this calendar?

    Many thanks

    If none of them are working it is most likely because of a conflict between the form script and calendar script which is probably causing only the text to appear. This may be possible with some further tweaking. However, this one is a bit beyond my knowledge. I will speak to my colleagues to see if we can try to figure out something to work on this and if we are then we'll get back to you about it as soon as we can.

    Hi thank you for your response.

    I think that there is not conflict with jotform as working fine. The things is that i have no idea how to insert my form inside of that Calendar. I tried in description>

    echo '  { "date": "'; echo date("Y-m-d H:i:00",strtotime($initTime. ' + 2 days')); echo '", "type": "test", "title": "FREE Spanish Lesson - 100% Free", "description": "      FORM HERE ", "url": "#" },';

    but did not work :(

    Hi Annika,

    To be honest, getting the form itself to appear in the description area could be tricky and it may be best to ask Jaime Fernández (the calendar's creator) how to do it. He has answered various questions about the plugin here. He can be contacted via this form.

    This should not be taken to mean that we have given up on finding a solution. We haven't. It's just that it may take considerable time to figure out something that works and asking he who knows the calendar best (its creator) would likely expedite this.

    Thanks

    Hi abajan,

    thank you for your reply. I already know the web, i got the calendar from there and I was using all the information in there to customised the css and inslall the calendar.

    I already sent them an email but i got no response as they look like that they are on other projects. This calendar is free to use and they probabily thing that they do emoght.

    This is why I am aking here. I am working in this 3 full days and I have no idea how to make jotform work in the calendar.

    I am here http://www.thespanishfactory.co.uk/app1/index-1.html

    I just want to embed this code in there:

    <script type="text/javascript" src="//form.jotformpro.com/jsform/33174660841959"></script>

    I could understand how frustrating this must be for you. Try this:

    1. Use the iFrame version of the form code instead of the default

    2. Paste the iFrame code into the top box of this tool

    3. Remove the second line from the iFrame code (the line that begins and ends with script tags) because it has been known to cause problems in some cases

    4. Click the "Convert text to Javascript" button

    5. In the generated code, replace all of the double-quotes (") with single-quotes (') and then wrap the entire code in double-quotes

    6. Use that code as the description value (where you have FORM HERE above)

    Now, if this works (it probably won't but if it does) don't break out the champagne because most programmers advise against using the document.write and document.writeIn methods because of associated security issues. But at least it would indicate the direction in which we should proceed towards a solution.

    Fear not, we won't abandon this puzzle till we solve it!
