If I switch my photo upload feature to ink file picker do I lose past submitted uploads ?Asked by Keystonemerch on November 18, 2013 at 01:22 AM
Hello, I switched to filepicker because I was getting a lot of sideways photos. Once I switched I seem to have lost all the photos that were uploaded to my forms prior to the switch. Is there an easy way to get them back?
Do I lose past submitted photos from the reports prior to the switch?
If you delete the field (in this case ink filepicker), then all the submissions and uploads for that field will be lost also at the JotForm server side.
BUT you should still have the files in your filepicker account. When you use the filepicker tool, it also uploaded a copy the files into your filepicker account.
If you have created a report for the form submissions, most likely the file will not be seen anymore, because they were disconnected alread to the JotForm file server when the filepicker field is deleted.
Hope this answers your question.

Actually, I deleted Jotform and switched to filepicker. I couldn't figure out how to edit the sideways photos that I was receiving with jotform uploads. (if there is an easy way to edit the submitted photos with jotform, please tell me, because I have a feeling I'm going to have to pay for filepicker)
What if I l edit the form to add jotform upload field, put the key that was used for the lost upload in it,then edit the reports one at a time using jpeg . Do you think this would work? Here are some upload links from one of my email submissions that were deleted.

I need to somehow put the missing uploads back on the table report. I feel like there is an easy way, but I can't figure it out.
If the above can't be done, could two forms share the same table listing or grid report? If this is possible I could make another form link with just uploads and upload the emailed submission photos to the Report with the missing photos.
As far as I know unfortunately once these have been deleted we don't have the ability to recover them. I think that you would have to download them and manually reupload them so that you can regain the missing ones you had from Inkfilepicker. Aside from that if it was an image from a previous customer they would then need to resubmit it if necessary if you don't have it. I'm trying to think of another way around this but I don't really know of a way to offset this more.
Something else that may help with resolving this for future use would be to use the Combine App so that you can use Two Forms together into a .CSV File if you wish. There is also the Import App as well to collect them and place it into JotForm. Both may be really handy for you.
The uploads were deleted in jotform. Does that make a difference?
I have all the photos. If I download them what do you think would be the easiest way to upload them to the table report that I use?
Import data looks like it might work for what I need. I'll play with it. thanks
Unfortunately, the Import App does not work with uploads.
In order to get the images on your reports, you will need to re-submit the files somehow. This can be done with new submissions, or you can find your old submissions and edit them on the form Submissions page.
In other words, you can edit your old submissions to upload the images to the new upload fields.
Thank you for your patients with me.
I should have mentioned that I already tried that. The upload option isn't even on the form to edit it. The image fields are gone. (weird)
Im going to start a private thread to show you what my submissions look like . The report data in submissions is all out of alignment too. data is in the wrong field.
Thank you for creating a new thread for the new question.
I will close this thread and we will continue assistane on you on the new post.
