I want to create a form with 2 columns but the system won't let me.
    I
used the shrink button but it still pulls the entries back to the left hand side.

    Hi pixelp

Are you referring to one of your existing forms? If you mean the radio buttons in your "Top of the Pops" form, do this:

    1. Load the said form into the form builder/editor

    2. Click the first radio button field and in the toolbar at the top of the form builder, click Spread Columns and enter 2:

I want to create a form with 2 columns but the system wont let me Screenshot 0

    3. Do likewise for the other radio button fields and save the form

That's it. Assuming those radio buttons is what you were alluding to, the reason you were not getting the method described in our user guide article to work was because that was about positioning two or more fields on a single line. You were trying to position elements within a single field.

I did some repositioning (and other tinkering) in a clone of your form to get the following result:

(Click image to view live form)

I want to create a form with 2 columns but the system wont let me Screenshot 0

Incidentally, the two text areas which are two separate fields, were positioned on a single line by following the instructions in the user guide article. There was no need to drag anything. I just shrunk the second one first then the other. If you wish, you can clone the form and continue editing it.

If I assumed incorrectly and you were referring to something else, please elaborate and we'll see how best we can assist you.

    Thanks.

    Hi ,

Thanks but that wasn't what I meant.

I want to create a form with each song title having  only one button -no options.

I'd also like the form to be two columns wide ie. song title and  button on the left hand side of the page and then a song title and button on the right side of the page on the same line.

    Is this possible please,

    Regards,

    Mike

    Hi again

Sorry about the misunderstanding. Is this more in line with what you wanted? I realize that the check boxes are on the wrong side. Perhaps they can be repositioned to the opposite side with some extra CSS but there are no guarantees.

Please let us know if this new rearrangement fulfills your requirements.

P.S. I wasn't certain where you wanted the two text areas.

    Hi,

Yes that fine -it really doesn't matter which side the checkboxes are on. Just a thought will the email that's generated contain the titles that are selected, or do i need to indentify the checked boxes somehow -like number the boxes?.

Thanks for all your help and the prompt replies,

    Regards,

    Mike

Yes, all the selected titles will be in the emailed notification. You can actually test the form and see how the results look in your email because it is presently setup to notify you.

If you are pretty much satisfied with how everything looks, you can clone the form and use it as your own. After cloning it, you can add as many songs as you wish to the list. They will automatically position themselves correctly: in two columns. You can add songs in a couple of ways after clicking the field containing the list. Either click Add New Option:

I want to create a form with 2 columns but the system wont let me Screenshot 0

    OR

Click the Options toolbar button and put each entry on a new line:

I want to create a form with 2 columns but the system wont let me Screenshot 0

For the items currently marked "Click to edit", you can do just that or change them via the Options button.

    Remember to save your changes.

If there is anything else related to our product with which you require assistance or you would just like to know about a feature or two, we'll be pleased to be of service.

    Hi Mike

You can actually clone it by a couple methods: Either right-click the word "this" in my post above (the same link you used to view the form) and when the menu pops up, click Copy link address as shown below:

I want to create a form with 2 columns but the system wont let me Screenshot 0

or if you find it more convenient, click the link to go to the form and then select and copy the URL from the browser's address bar to your clipboard.

Next, go to your My Forms page and click the New Form button:

I want to create a form with 2 columns but the system wont let me Screenshot 0

The rest is explained in the user guide article to which I earlier referred.

As usual, should you require further assistance please feel free to ask anytime.

    Hi,

Have transferred the form into Dreamweaver, which I'm using but it appears as a single column form, not double. Thought maybe the layout cell was a bit narrow so widened it (to 850 px) and tried again but still no luck. Any suggestions!!

    Cheers,

    Mike

    Maybe I spoke too soon!

At present the columns are fairly close together and as a result some of the song titles are being pushed onto the next line. Is it possible to move the right hand coloumn over a bit so all songs titles are on a single line. I've tried widening the page but I can't move the right hand column over,

    Regards,

    Mike

    Hello Mike,

Try injecting this custom css code onto your form:

    .form-multiple-column .form-checkbox-item {
        width390px;
    }

You may adjust the width to suit your preference.

    To inject custom css:

    1.  Go to Setup & Embed tab
    2.  Click Preferences Form button
    3.  Choose Form Styles tab
    4.  Copy and paste the css code in the Inject Custom CSS textarea

I want to create a form with 2 columns but the system wont let me Screenshot 0

I hope this solution works for you. Feel free to ask around if you have other questions in mind.

    Hi forum,

I'm trying to do the following form:

    http://cl.ly/01412Z14191J3f1k3a08

Based on and older form I did with Jotform. I have tried following the suggestions in this post (as well as the Field Positioning tutorial), but I still can't seem to control the forms elements properly and have them in the order I want and align as they should.

Notice the two fields in the screenshot with the name" Dynamic should only appear when a certain selection in the dropdowns have been made. They should appear and go away without the layout changing. This doesn't work for me iether.

Maybe the form can do this using CSS, but unfortunately I'm no CSS wizard. Here's a link to the form I've got issues with:

    http://form.jotformeu.com/form/21502860450343

I've been struggling with this form for weeks. Anyone who knows how to accomplish this?

    All help is greatly appreciated.

    All the best
