    Request: Saved checklist widget

    Asked by dlaro on December 04, 2013 at 09:42 AM

    I would like to create a simple checklist that will be dynamic and save selections from one user to another. For example, I have a toy donation event. I want to create a checklist with 20-30 items (toys) and send out the form (via jotdorm url) to 100+ people. If someone selects that they will be donating item #3 and then another user goes to the form I want it to show that item #3 has already been selected therefore they need to select another item to donate.

    donation create selected select

    It sounds like a great idea. So, it is kind of a Shared TODO List. Kind of a Gift Registry.

    I have added this to our widget requests list. Hopefully, one of our developers will be able to implement it.

    No, the checklist widget will not work. I am looking for something that will save all items that have been checked off. so for example, if visitor 1 checks off item 3, i want visitor 7 to see that item 3 has been selected therefore they cannot chose that as an option and they need to select another item.

    Dear JotForm team. Great job on the quick response and creation of this widget. It's hard to find companies with the customer service and development capabilities the team has shown in response to my request. Very impressive...
    Now with that said, there is a remaining issue I have with the new widget. Although your demo shows the correct functionality, which is striking out an item once it's no longer available, it is not showing it on the form I have created using the widget. Can you please correct this functionality...unless of course I am missing some sort of setting I need to address within my widget.
    Please provide feedback. Here is a link to my form for reference, http://form.jotform.co/form/33398718113862.

    Hi Dominic,

    Thanks for your positive remarks and glad to hear you like the solution.

    Regarding on the issue, I checked your form here, and you missed entering your Jotform API Key.

    You have to create an API on your account settings, API section and enter it on the widget settings. Here's a short guide on how to create API Key: https://www.jotform.com/help/253-How-to-Create-Jotform-API-Key

    That should resolved the problem.

    Cheers!

    This widget function would work well for my needs I would like to use it to limit the number of identical menu items food vendors can sell at a festival.

    My problem is the size I have a hundred items to list, is there anyway to make the widget smaller to look more like a regular checklist with 2 columns

    @dlaro

    Thanks, we appreciate the comment and glad to hear that worked out better for you.

    @akt1

    We've resolved this by adding it as a widget already but it's understandable that you wish to make further improvements to it. So I have split your request off into a new thread here.
