Can I add data to a pre-populated pull-down menu?

My genealogy form requires the ability to add birth years before 1920 which is the oldest date in Jotform's pre-populated year field. I can add a field for users to fill in a birth year before 1920, but having dates in the pull-down list that go back at least to 1900 would be so cool. This is a great site and is so useful! Just a little tweaking here and there...

    Hi there,

You can do this by copying the full form source code to your web site and changing the HTML code for that.

To download the full source codes for your form:

    1.  Go to Setup & Embed
    2.  Click the Embed Form button
    3.  Choose Source
    4.  Click the link that says "here"

Let us know if you have further questions.

    Hi GFPat

Thanks for asking. Although, to my knowledge, the pre-populated pull-downs cannot be edited, you can edit the default pull-down by clicking Options and entering each year on a new line:

I realize that's a fair amount of work and was trying to find a pre-populated text file containing a list of years that you could just copy and paste into the Options field and edit accordingly but I my search was unsuccessful (although I think I had previously found such a file containing a list of countries.)

Hopefully, you find this solution useful. Should you require help with anything else related to our forms, please feel free to post your query and our team will do our best to assist you.

Hi, Mliz and Wayne, I am amazed at how fast your team responds with suggestions!! Thanks so much for that.

Wayne, your way is definitely the most straightfoward, but also, as you said, a lot of work. Mliz, I THINK I get what you're suggesting, and it would be less work overall than Wayne's idea. You say to copy the HTML code to my website. My form is not displayed on a website. It's a form with limited usage - just to extended family for genealogy purposes - so I email the Jotform link with my form ID of course. In this case, can I still use your way of editing the code? ...Pat

I was able to generate a list of years from 1900 to 2011 by doing some basic PHP scripting. Feel free to use this list to implement Wayne's solution for your form's dropdown .

Thanks, Neil. But I think I'll just add a text box asking users to type a pre-1920 year next to the pre-populated date fields. I'd sure like it if you guys would come up with a canned date picker with years that go back farther than 1920. That said, this program is great. Everybody wants a little something different, right? Keep doin' what you're doin'. We appreciate it.

Following abajan suggestion, I was able to make the list of any year or date using Excel, don´t know if it helps, but simple solutions often are valuable.
