Feature Request - Hide Field Option

    Could I make a feature request please regarding having a button, in options, to hide fields.

    We have a hidden field function - that works great within its limitations

    We can hide any field by injecting CSS  e.g.

    #id_1 {

    display: none;

    However, I am finding an increasing need to hide fields ... like radio and tick box functions... as more sophisticated flag functions ... I often have to change these each day for clients but have to go into the inject CSS to cut the code out ... make the changes ... and then reapply the code.

    Could I request that we have a hide field button in the options for fields please ...

    Would be most useful. It is a feature in other form providers ... bout time we had it.

    Many thanks

    Hi Mark,

    Would also useful for those who don't know with CSS codings. Let me add this to our feature request list. Unfortunately, I can't say how long this would take as it depends on our developers progress.

    For now, if possible, I would suggest contacting us if you need help with hiding form fields. We'll make sure we can do it so quickly.

    Added it to our feature request tickets. Thanks.

    Why do you use so much hidden fields? Is it for conditions?

    Hi Aytekin,

    Few things I use hidden fields for.

    For all forms I create a field called submission date and hide it ... Why? The submission date by default is not in a preferable format for UK users. So I put this field in at the beginning and hide it with CSS

    For routing ... often I need to use a flag to miss a page etc ... an invisible radio button called Flag ... will apply a lot of control to route.

    Sometimes I want to pipe values into a grid report ... so I'll create a checkbox field and select those needed as a default ... these values are piped through to a grid report ... yeah I know you may be thinking "what?" ... but well useful.

    In the form builder ... if the fields had a "hidden" option ... then I envisage the hidden fields being greyed out ... much better than completely disappearing via CSS addition.

    Thanks Hope that helps.

    Regards Mark

    That makes sense Mark, I find it very useful too since I believed few users are needing this feature not just the hidden box field itself, but for the other type of fields which users are requesting here on forum on how to hide fields.

    I have added your ideas to this ticket, FYI. You will hear updates from our developers once it's implemented.

    You guys had an option called 'Hidden Box', which I think, offered the hidden file option, it would be very useful it was brought back, I am not sure why it was removed.

    My use is to submit my own id marks.

    Hidden box is still very much available and can now be found under the Widgets section. Simply search for "hidden box" so you can be able to add it to your form.

    If you have follow-up questions, kindly open a new thread so we can attend to them properly.

    It appears that this function ... the ability to hide any field with one click (rather than using CSS) is now available.

    Don't confuse with the Hidden Box widget ... which is a tool that allows the function of adding some text to a field that is automatically hidden.

    I will test this ... but it is a great addition and this thread can be closed
