A Way to Reset Element IDs?

I was wondering if it is possible to reset the element IDs so that they are numbered in the order that they appear

I noticed a topic was created about this in 2011 and was hoping that there was an update on this:

Unfortunately, that is not possible with Jotform. Form Name and ID are system generated. Once you add the field, the id and name are automatically created. You can find these two by following this guide: How to Find Field IDs & Names.

Unfortunately, the request for that thread is already cancelled, and there's no update about it from our developers.

Why would you like to change the ID or Names? Any purpose of that?

Thanks for your quick response! There isn't really a huge functional purpose that I was thinking of. It's just nice to be able to keep things organized intuitively. When working with CSS, it's easier to work with the elements if they're numbered in order. The bigger reason though is that I will be passing on this form to someone else who is less familiar with how html and css works. Anything that can be simplified so that the "programming stuff" looks more intuitive, the easier that transition will be.

Anyway thanks again and happy holidays!

Edit: It looks like I posted the question with my "organization" account and answered with my personal account. Sorry about that!

Thank you for taking the time to update us with your response.

As additional info, I would like to share that, if you create a form from start, the field's ID# do have numbering pattern. The assigned field's ID# are in sequence for each new added field.

For example, if I add 3 textboxes field on the form, the field ID name are like this input_1, input_2, input_3.

In a way, I think this should also help simplify a bit your delegation explanation during transition.
