Online Form: Enable on date

I use the Disable On Date all the time and I love that I can set that and know the form will close on a specific date and time. This is an extremely valuable tool.

An equally needed tool is an Enable On Date. We build forms in advance, do lots of testing to be sure when that form is needed - it is working correctly.

Most of our forms can go live as soon as it is done being built. However, some forms open on a specific date giving time for all involved to be notified - giving equal access (consider a sign up for for an event with limited attendance - all need equal opportunity to the form).

So that means I have to be at my computer at the very minute the form must go live. That might not be convenient if I am traveling. Or it opens at midnight PT and now I have to be up at 2am CT to open the form.

Please consider an Enable On Date so it can be set in advance.

    Thank you!

    Howdy ISCAForms,

I understand that you would like to have the option to enable a Form at a specific date and time. At this time I have created a request for our developers to consider implementing this feature. Please understand that I am unable to provide an ETA for when this feature might be implemented. However, you should be notified on this thread once there is an update.

I would like to point out that this is almost possible at the moment. While it isn't a simple option to enable like the "Disable on date" feature, we can use Conditional Logic, and a Paragraph field to show our own message until after the specified date. However, this method will not allow us to compare the time & date, only the date.

I have created a demo form here. Please clone the form to your account to investigate the settings and conditions that I have used.

Please let us know if there's anything else we can help you with!

I wanted to nudge this request. The above request was the 2nd time I have asked. What you suggested above does work - except we must be able to have a TIME involved.

I see so many updates to things that are just "pretty" and not necessarily necessary. I DO realize you cannot give me an updated time this can go into effect. or even if it ever will.

I just would like this sent to the programmers - AGAIN - as I find it close to unacceptable this isn't important to Jot Form.

Tonight I had to set an alarm to be sure I was up at midnight to ENABLE a form. Now midnight might not be that big a deal, but sometimes our forms open at midnight PT - which means I have to get up at 2am to enable.

Sometimes, we enable at noon - when I am at my real job and am not allowed to do personal things. Or I have been out of town for work when an form had to be enabled.

I just find it very hard to swallow that this feature isn't just as important as Disable on Date/Time. And that it has been so long in waiting!

    Hi there,

We understand the importance of this feature to you. However, as mentioned, we couldn't do much at this point but wait for our developers to update us.

You may consider the workaround my colleague has suggested just for the time being while we wait for an update.

Here's a guide that you can refer to https://www.jotform.com/help/439-enable-or-disable-a-form-based-on-time-using-conditions/

    Thanks!
