Product List widget: the widget data is cleared even if "Clear Hidden Field Values" is set to "Don't Clear"

    I have a form with a product list that creates a pdf invoice that is e-mailed at the first submission. After this submission the product list is hidden which causes the line by line information to not display on the invoice any longer.


    June 7th and before it would generate a PDF and attach to my e-mail and I would have the information even after the list is hidden. The next invoice I built on June 14th displays as a link to download which does not capture the information at the time of submission but instead gives me a PDF with the most current information from the form which will be blank due to the hidden values.


    I did not make changes to my Form during this time. Did Jotform update how PDF files are sent?

    Hello!

    Form SHOW/HIDE conditions do not affect PDF templates. Data should show in the PDF even if it is hidden in the actual form.

    I believe that you're referring to your "Invoice Generator" email notification of your "Comp Modules" form. The link that is generated in your screenshot looks like an update but I am not sure why it is not sending the PDF. I don't think it it supposed to overwrite the behavior and not send the PDF.

    BTW, can you send us a screenshot of the blank PDF that you received?

    The above screen shots show that Submission 29 after the values were hidden in the product list have disappeared on the PDF. Submission 32 is where we re-submitted the information under the "other" tab which does not send to our Sub Contractor so that we could recreate the invoice for ourselves. If someone loaded the "edit" URL though it would hide the product list and blank this information.

    Hello Bryant! As mentioned earlier, form conditions do not affect the PDFs. But in your case, there is a different reason for this PDF to be empty.

    If you look at Submission 29's actual record, you'll notice that the product list data itself is empty. So, technically the PDF can show no data. Here is the Submission 29's recordset: https://www.jotform.com/inbox/203383045725150/4995141902425417484

    It seems that after you edit, the product list data gets cleared. You mentioned that you're hiding this product list widget for further edits. We have a setting named "Clear Hidden Field Values" that removes the associated data if the element is hidden.

    I also noticed that you've correctly set it to "Don't Clear," but it is still clearing the product list data.

    So, this is a bug. The product list data is still getting cleared even after the "Clear Hidden Field Values" setting is correctly set.

    I've reported this to the Backend team. We'll work on this and get back to you.

    Once this gets fixed, your PDF issue will automatically get resolved.

    However, until this gets fixed, I'll request you not to hide the product list widget for 'edit' views to avoid this getting cleared.
