Can I create multiple Google Spreadsheets based on Data being submitted?

Asked by nolitahouse on January 21, 2014 at 07:28 AM

I am wondering if all submissions need to go into one Google Spreadsheet or is there a way to create a rule to create a new spreadsheet when certain data requirements are met.  I am looking to capture a single day's data in one spreadsheet and then when the submission date changes a new Google spreadsheet is created with the next day's data.

    Hello nolitahouse,

Unfortunately, it is not possible. When you integrate your form with google spreadsheet, immediately an excel spreadsheet in created in your google drive and the URL is attached to your form.

Every new submission will go to this google spreadsheet only and there is no feature where you can create a new spreadsheet for everyday.

    Thank you!

Thank you for the kind words. =)

As I reviewed your original question, I think there can be also a workaround that you may want to try to achieve what you need.

My suggestion will not create a new spreadsheet base on everyday submissions (as explained by our colleague already, this is not an available option)

BUT if you look at google spreadsheet, there is a way to filter its content/data -- what I am saying is, you can just create a custom filter or query within the Google docs spreadsheet application base on Date(daily).

You can then create a new spreadsheet and copy all the filtered data from the spreadsheet to the new spreadsheet.

I search google and found this article.
