E-Mail Validator widget not appearing on form - "Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 (Internal Server Error)"

    Hello,

I have a JotForm where the E-Mail Validator widget is no longer populating on the form. This is happening on the form builder and the actual fillable form.

I followed instructions from this previous forum post, but have been unsuccessful in getting all of the widget to reappear. This was working previously, but has stopped as of today. Below is an output of the console error I receive while I'm accessing the form:

I have cleared the cache within JotForm settings, cleared cache in my browsers, and tried accessing the form in a Guest/Incognito window - the widget still does not show up. We've confirmed that this issue is also happening in the widget's demonstration form.

I'd like to know if this is something that can be fixed - previous posts indicate the issue can't be consistently replicated - or if we will need to completely abandon this widget due to its unreliability at this time.

    Thank you,

    Jessica

Edit: I also want to add that a different widget (Postal Code Search) on another form I have created is giving me the following error message when I try typing in a zip code:

Not sure if there's something going on with your data-widgets server.

To which form is the issue related? I tested the E-Mail Validator widget on a new form and it is working properly.

Please share the URL of your form. If the form is embedded, please share the webpage URL.

    Hi Nik,

Since the form is still live and needing to be completed, we had to remove the widget since it wasn't working for everyone trying to access it. I cloned the original form and added the email validator widget, and it's working on that form.

I experienced multiple widget failures late yesterday on multiple existing forms and external users trying to complete the forms were also experiencing issues.

All form errors kept pointing to data-widgets.jotform.io and saying "error: failed to fetch data from server." I'm not sure if this is a general issue with the widget server or if the issue is only limited to our existing forms.

    Hi Jessica,

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to you.

I tried using the E-mail Validator widget, and currently, it seems to be working correctly.

May I confirm if the issue with the other widget failures is still ongoing?
This sounds like it has been a temporary issue with the widgets-jotform.io, as I am unable to reproduce any errors for now.

Can I ask you to test your form, and let us know if the widgets are working currently?
If the failures continue, this might be something we need to forward to our back-end team.

    Hi Laura,

As of this morning, the issue was still ongoing with the Postal Code Search. I had to hide the widget in the form and have users enter the zip code via the address field.

I did clone the form and tried the Postal Code Search there, and it was working correctly.

At this time, we will need to keep these widgets hidden on our forms since they are still being submitted on a daily basis and we don't want to chance the possibility of the widgets not working again. Should this change and we have a chance to use the widgets on the forms again, I'll try to update here.

    Thank you.

    Hi Jessica,

Good to hear that the widget was working on the clone.

That sounds like a good decision, and if you go back to using the widgets, or would encounter any other issues with the forms, let us know and we are happy to help.
