I updated the settiings in the 'e-mail alerts' tab, for the recipient email address, however after testing and waiting some time and re-testing, it is still using the old address on file
Is there anything additional to do in order to update these settings

Did you use the test button as shown below?
If you are, then the test will go to the email on file.
To see whether the settings are working, you woud have to do a test submission - fill the form and send it.
To allow us assist you further, please share the email you would like the notifications to go to.
Remember, you can set multiple recepients into one.
