Spreadsheet integration is duplicating the documents & folders

Asked by safekids on January 25, 2014 at 08:44 AM

    Hi Dears,

when i create new form with the same folder name the files are not added inside the same folder, but it creates a new folder with the same name.

Same happens with the files, if i created a new form with the same file to export in the same spread it creates anther document with the same name instead of adding in the same file.

why its not smart enough to detact that the foler is already created and create files inside it or detect that the file is already created and add submissions inside it!??

is this a bug , is there any solution to avoid this duplication ?

    Thanks,

    Randa

    Hi Randa,

To clarify, thie Google spreadsheet integration behaviour should be the ff:

    1. Integrating a new form and assigning it to the existing google folder, will put the form inside the existing folder.

    2. Integrating a new form and assigning the same name of an existing form, and assigning it to the existing google folder will NOT overwrite or export the data to the existing form in the folder. It will ALWAYS create a new form in the folder.

why its not smart enough to detact that the foler is already created and create files inside it or detect that the file is already created and add submissions inside it!??

From what I understand so far, it seems that only the #1 is where you are having issue.

Can please try integrating at least 3 different forms (with different names), and assign them by default to 'JotForm' folder. Please observe if the 3 integrated forms will create 3 new google 'JotForm' folder everytime.

I was not able to reproduce yet this folder bug issue that you encounter when I tested it on my end.

But perhaps recent google updates have affected the integration and produces this inconsistency on some account.

Please update us of the test result.

    Thanks.
