Can We Limit Submissions In A Month?

Asked by wrafter on January 30, 2014 at 11:22 AM

    Hi,

I would like to limit the number of submissions through a form in a calendar month and provide a countdown to show how many allowed submissions remain (one submission increments down the number of remaining submissions by one). Then, at the start of the next calendar month the number reverts to the full number of allowed submissions.

    Possible?

Submissions limit submissions next then and

    Hello

Regarding your question, if you meant the total amount of submissions in a month, you can try the submissions counter widget. But as far as I know it shows only the submissions already done, and not the remaining ones. You can see more details of this widget here.

Also you need to limit the amount of submissions allowed for your form. Please go to Preferences>Form limits and change the submission limit for the amount you wish.

Let us know if you need more assistance.

    Regards

    Carina

    Hi Carina,

These solutions, respectively, allow me to counter the number of submitted submissions (as you've noted) and to limit the number of submissions to be submitted (but not by date).

Curious if you know of any other way to: limit the number of submissions through a form in a calendar month to a specific number and provide a countdown to show how many submissions remain. Then, at the start of the next calendar month the number reverts to the full number of allowed submissions.

I see and I think I get what you are trying to do here. You basically want a more advanced limitation feature. To my knowledge the only way to do that is to either set an Expiration Date for your form which is in the same section as Carina Suggested above.

The closet that I know of to get you closer to that ability right now would be to use a Submission Counter Widget that displays how many submissions you've received so far. Then you could set the Expiration Date of the Form along with using the Day Countdown Widget. You could also advise on the form how many submissions are allowed and they'll see what the Submission Counter is at for comparison. Aside of that though there isn't really a way to automate this though each calendar month other then to manually control it which might be possible using with the form's Source Code.

I think you might be seeking something more along the lines of something that combines this together with an expiration date along plus showing a settable limit for it on a different level. If you would like I can make a request to have our developers consider adding this as a new widget which I think would be relatively useful in my opinion as well.

Thanks KadeJM. I don't wish to manually set an expiration date each month because a) I will have to remember to do it exactly at the start of each month and b) I have 15+ forms where I need this, so it's a lot of work.

I'm trying to limit submissions to 15, if I show the user the number of submissions received so far they'll ignore and submit 16, then 17, then 18 and so on. I need to limit them with a hard stop.

Would very much like if developers could take a stab at it. I think it would be a useful feature too.

I have added raised a ticket in regards to this feature request. Unfortunately I am unable to provide an ETA for this request. Nor can I promise this request will be implemented. Nevertheless it isbest for the development team to evaluate the feasibility of it. Once there are any updates, they will let us know through this thread.

In the meantime, the solutions that have been provided by my colleagues may be the closest option to obtain the functionality you need.

Do let us know if you need any other assistance. Thank you.
