Can I pass user data into a form - import data from my database

Asked by jenspepie on January 31, 2014 at 03:35 PM
I'd like to use some data from an existing database and merge them into a jotform-hosted form. So I can pass e.g. Name, city etc to the form and this data are shown up in certain fields of the form. My idea is to use your API, create a submission with the known user data and then call the form. Is this a good practice?TIA!Regards Jens

    Hello,

    Yes you can.

Please use this app to do so: http://apps.jotform.com/app/import_data

Your data needs to be in a spreadsheet or in CSV format.

Follow the instructions precisely in order to match the fields of your data to the form.

Let us know if you hit a bump.

Is there a way to automate this based on unique URL that is generated from a form submission and when the url is clicked, it opens a new form and prepopulates the forms from the original submission?
