Problems with Editing Approval Workflow Email

My approve + sign workflow only has 1 option: approve. However, in the email that goes out to the approver, it shows two buttons: approve and more actions.

I want the approver to just receive one link to review and sign the form. Clicking on "more actions" allows the approver to do this. Clicking on "approve" opens the form with a signature pop-up that doesn't give them the opportunity to review the submission unless they click
"cancel" first. That additional step is a bit annoying. For confidentiality reasons, I don't want the submission data in the body of the email, so the approver needs to be able to open the submission to review it before signing.

I'd like for the email to just provide a link to the "more actions" button since it allows for review before submission, but I'd like to change the text of the button to "review." I couldn't figure out how to do this from editing the email directly because if I deleted something it would pop right back up, but I was able to make the changes I wanted by editing the source code. In the attached screenshot, I had to put "display:none" and "Review" in place of what is highlighted.

Will there be a simpler way to accomplish this in the future? I'm sure there are other users who might want to be able to edit these emails in similar ways but may not know how to edit the source code.

    Hello there,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

Unfortunately the buttons are programmed to reappear if you remove them from the email template.

You've already came up with a great workaround!

JotForm Approvals is a pretty new functionality, and at the moment the Approver email has been conceived in that way, but of course, it will be improved day by day, thanks to our clients' feedback.

I went ahead and opened a feature request. If and when such feature will get implemented, you'll receive an update on this same thread.

    Thanks for your cooperation!

    Thanks!

I also noticed that when the approver receives the link to review the submission, it only contains the questions and raw data. However, I need paragraph text and headers to be included as well. How can I make sure that these elements appear on the approver's side?

The paragraph text and the headers are non-fillable fields.

You will need to edit the email content, add (copy-paste) these fields into the email. Only then the approver can see these details in the email.
