Target = "_self" is being reverted to target="_blank" while using it in Text toolAsked by Cre8tiveSanDiego on February 06, 2014 at 12:12 PM
Hi Jotform team,
I am having the same problem here as simonlattmann (http://www.jotform.com/answers/324931-Target-open-link-in-same-window?entrymessage=10732640770). I tried Jonathan's "Header Field" work-around, however the target = "_self" is still being changed back to target = "_blank" upon re-entering the form editing page.
Hope this will be fixed soon.
target JotForm problem www
Thanks for opening your own thread to post the issue you are having. I cloned your form and it followed the alternative workaround provided by Jonathan and just as you said, it continues reverting back to "_blank".
I even tried to not adding the attribute target, but it continues getting to _blank. I also looked for a different way to include the link witht the attribute and found that using a checkbox to insert the link to the label will work:
Then to hide the option just inserted this CSS code to the form:
Here is my demo form: http://form.jotformpro.com/form/40365161922955
I have also opened a new bug ticket about this issue so that you can be updated through this thread once the issue is fixed.
Thanks for your understanding.
Great! Checkbox works! Please keep me posted on the bug ticket.
"_self" is not allowed intentionally probably for security reason. We are not allowing it.
Why don't you just choose the "open link in the same window" option on the dropdown?
Why do you exactly need the _self for?
It doesn't make sense if "_self" is not allowed intentionally, because "_self" is exactly what the "Open link in the same window" putting out to the code. I was doing the exact same thing as you suggested but the form revert the link target back to "Open link in new window" aka "_blank" everytime when I load the "Edit Form" page. It's not that we wanted to use "_self" but it's your system told us to. You can see there are few other people having this same issue with a quick Google search. Please correct this bug and QC your product carefully.
Thank you for providing us with the additional details about the issue you are referring to. I will go ahead and note these extra details. We will also look at this some more to see if there is anything else we can figure out more in regards to this problem and get back to you about it later if we find anything.
We are truly sorry for the late update, but we would like to inform you that this problem has been fixed.
Kindly edit the html links on your form to open in the same window, then re-save your form.
Let us know if you run into any other problems.
This is not working for me. See my form https://form.jotform.com/60756620208958
I'd like the links to open in the same window. the html code changes automatically from self_ to blank_
