If I have an ID Number in my form - but my submission list is missing sequential numbers?

Asked by jotkath8 on July 06, 2011 at 11:44 AM

If a person fills out the form - but fails to hit the submit button will that number disappear or not be used? I have a new form that went up on July 1. I tested it and became submission PV-01. I have an ID number for PV-04. We receive payments through another system and I have 1 more payment than submission. So I tested it again and became submission PV-05.  There is no record of submissions 2 and 3? ANy help.

If the person failed to hit the SUBMIT button would that have "used up" the registration number?

I can only think of two possible reasons why the submissions with unique ID PV12-02 and PV12-03. One, it might have been that you, or someone with an access to your account, have accidentally deleted the submissions.

The other is that the Current Index for the Unique ID field was modified, and the number 4 was entered. Thus, the subsequent submits skipped the unique id's PV12-02 and PV12-03.

As for your question, just viewing the form doesn't use up a unique ID or registration number, as how you call it. These numbers will only be taken when the form is successfully submitted.
