    Hidden field/text box

    Asked by Madrona on February 10, 2014 at 07:52 PM

    I would like to include a text box on my form that people using my form and submitting it will not be able to see, but it will be visible on the completed, submitted form and in the email notification.

    The text box will be instructions that won't change and should appear automatically in the email notification - I don't need to answer a question with this field. The Hidden Box widget has not been helpful to me because it is a empty field.

    Any suggestions?

    The Hidden Box widget can assigned with a default value so that it is NOT empty.

    Hope this help. Inform us if you need further assitance.

    To achieve this result we can try a workaround:

    1. Insert a radio button (clear the label text) and paste the instructions(or preferred text) in the option field. Delete the other options

    2. Make your instructions selected

    3. Inject the following css code (see here more details on how to inject css code)

    {visibility : hidden !important;}

    label[for="input_3_0"]{visibility : hidden !important;}

    This way this field is not visible but is going to show in the email notification and in the submission.
    If you wish you can see and clone the test form I created for this:

    Is this really the only way to get hidden input passed to the email? Can input_3 be conditionally overwritten based on the value of another field? Thanks.
