Conditions > Substring Widget: Zero value on substring isn't not inserted into Textbox

Hello,
Two of my forms have the same issue. Both forms gather a Social security number for the I-9 and W9 forms.
I have the user input the number into a short text field with masking.
Then I use 9 substring fields to pull the individual digits out. Then another 9 short text fields are filled conditionally so that the can be added to the PDF file lined up with the boxes.
Out of nowhere anytime there is a zero digit in the SS#, it stops getting copied into the final text field.
I left the substrings and short text fields unhidden so that you can see the Substring fields work, but the conditional copy is not working with '0' now.
Is this just a temporary glitch?

I was able to replicate the problem when the output field is a textbox field, it doesn't capture zeros. I have now escalated this to our developers for a resolution.
For now, please replace your output fields using the Form Calculation Widget. This should capture the 0 value.

I can't seem to get the calculation field to grab the Substring value. Shouldn't it just be "= SS1 Widget"

I also tried using the same conditional logic, but outputting to the calculation field and it was still not taking 0.

Ok upon further tries, when I added a new calculation field and didnt mess with it and just put it as the output in the conditional it works.

Hi there,
I tested your form, and the zeroes are showing properly in the PDF.
See the image below.
Can you please confirm if you're still getting the issue?
I have cleared your form cache as a precaution.
We will wait for your response.

So I see the zeros when I download the PDF from the submissions table after it comes in. But the pdf attachment with the submission email is still missing the zeros.

Hi again,
I am able to replicate the issue on a cloned version as shown below. Entered zeros in the field do not reflect on the email attached original PDF form as shown below.
Could you please allow me some time to closely look into this?
Your patience is most appreciated.

Hi again,
Kindly convert the Substring widget value involved in conditions from numbers to strings by single-clicking them as shown below.
Please give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Gave that a try but still the same issue. It seemed that almost all of them were already set to strings and not numbers.

Hi again,
Since the issue is subject to only the emailed PDF original form and this ticket has been already escalated to our developers, I will update the escalated report with this news.
Once we hear back from them, we will instantly update you via this support ticket.
Your patience and understanding are most appreciated.

Hello,
I wanted to see if there is an update to this issue as I have another form that is hiding zeros on the emailed pdf.

@Silent_Radio
First off, the "zero" problem with the textbox in the form level can't be replicated anymore so it's fixed.
Example:
I understand that the problem is now with the attached PDF and I was able to reproduce it. Fields with zero value are not currently shown on the attached PDF and this is a bug.
For example on the form, you will them with zero value.
But, on the attached PDF, fields with zero value are not shown.
Since this main ticket is still about the condition issue, I have escalated a separate bug ticket for you here https://www.jotform.com/answers/3513233. We will surely get back to you about this once the problem is fixed. We'll also provide you with a workaround on this ticket. We'll be on it shortly.
