Is there a way to get a field, id for example, from a page that has been redirected from an email? Basically, if I send an email to my customer and they click the link in the email the id field shows up on the linked page, for identification, when they submit the form.

    Thank you for contacting us.

    Yes there is.

I believe the idea is to:

    1. Share a URL with your customers via email - the URL has a specific code

    2. Users click on the link and it opens your form, and adds a reference number into the form, and when the form is submitted, the reference number is shown - right?

To accomplish this, do the following:

    1. Add a hidden field as shown below:

    2. Get the name of the hidden field:

    3. Now, share the URL to your form (as you would send it via email) in the following manner?

     - The highlighted part is what you would add to your form (including the question mark)

     - referenceNumber is the name for your hidden field

      - ref0010220 is obviously what will identify the submission once the form is filled out and submitted - you can change the value to anything you like.

I've prepared a demo for you with a visible field on the demo form, click it to see what happens:

Does this help? Let us know.

This is what I would like to achieve but not exactly how I want to achieve it. Every form created comes with an id or {id} as specified in the email notification. I want that same id received from the first submission to be the same with the next subission.

    Here's the form:

I believe you are probably referring to the Submission ID maybe? Please correct me if that's not what you meant. It's possible to use that Tag for a session but these are not changable. Each Form that is Submitted to you via your Form autogenerates a New Submission ID which is always going to be unique and never the same. This is done by our system to keep them recognizable on a technical level so if they were to be kept the same it could cause severe problems.

The ID FIELD aka " {id} " tag if you compare them is always different. See screenshot below.

May I ask why you are trying to have this be the same? Perhaps we can come up with an alternate solution for you to create a similar effect of this nature.

My business is reCommerce and I send my customers offers for their products. If they accept my offer then I want their to be a link included in the email that sends them to a page that lets them accept the offer via jotform. I need to be able to recognize the customer using a unique id that only they have.

How about using our Get Referrer Widget: ? Since you have the form on a single page, the output or the referrer should be same. Since you need the identifier to be the same, this method should work. Kindly check and let us know your thoughts.
