Upload Error File could not be uploaded for some reason. Please go back and fix the problem(s)

Asked by Revuesurglace on February 24, 2014 at 08:18 PM

    Hi,

Recently, i got a lot of problem loading file after submission.  Here is the error message I had:

" Upload Error File could not be uploaded for some reason. Please go back and fix the problem(s) "

This had not happen only in one of my form but in couple of them.  I tried to resolve the problem with the solution you provided in this thread: www.jotform.com/answers/331810-Upload-not-working

I tried it with differents browsers, differents types of computers and mobiles devices, embedded or non-embedded forms and I still got the same message.  It did not happened all the time but for now, it does'nt work anymore.

Can you please fix this problem ?

I have tested uploading to the form through the website where the form is embedded, I have uploaded a test mp3 (14mb), Yet is failed once I tried submitting the page. I have alternatively tested uploading a test file by utilizing the form's URL: http://form.jotform.com/form/10084353079.

But it has also failed. In which case I have cloned the form and the clone appears to upload files properly. I no longer recevied the error uploading the file using the clone of your form.

In which case I would advise to clone my clone of your form. And let us know if by using that version of your form, you are able to upload files again:

Do let us know if the issue persists after performing this step. Thank you.

Thanks for having a look on my request.

Unfortunately, it was not the answer I was looking for.  I already tried your solution of cloning the form as stated in the ticket.  On my behalf, it did'nt work either.  The second problem with the cloning of the form is that all my data that was in the original form is not following in the cloned form.  It seems to be obvious, but since I have to manage all this data, the solution you looked over is giving me a hard time.  Like I said, it did not just happen with this form but with others also.  So if the solution is to clone all my forms and all my data that is not following, JotForm will just not be the right product for me and also for other that might get that trouble once in a while.  How many time I will have to do this operation if someday this trouble comes back again ?  Clone again ?

You have a wonderful product, take care of it.  Keep giving an astonishing customer service: please come back to me with the rightful solution.

I have continued to test uploading files to the form, yet I still receive the error when performing the submission even after trying smallr 2MB files in Zip and Mp3 format. The form appears to submit without any problem if no file is selected for upload. At this time I will go ahead and submit a ticket so that the Dev Team can shed some light on what may be causing this on your form. Once they have any update in regards to this. They will notify it through this thread. Thank you.

    Hello Frédéric,

As I do not see any problems with your form, I'm suspecting that it may have something to do with your FTP integration.  Can you check your FTP site/server if it has the proper settings to receive submissions?

You can also try removing your FTP integration and test your form if you can properly receive submissions.  If not, please let us know so we can try digging the problem deeper.

    Thanks.

    Hi Liyam,
This test had been done before writing this ticket. You can test it on your
    own, you will see.
Also, weve been a user of JotForm for the past 4 years with multiple forms
and we never experienced this type of problem before with ALL our forms and
subissions. Why this happenned suddenly without any change in FTP
integration or site mainframe ? You are better placed to answer this
    question.
I will wait for your solution.
    Kindly regards,

    Hello Revuesurglace,

After a series of tests, it does seem to be a mix of both.  It appears to have something to do with one of our domains, and at the same time, your FTP server.

Here's what I did: First, I tried to change the domain name of the submit URL of your form and made a test. It failed apparently.  Next, I removed your FTP integration and made another test.  This time, the submission went through.

As a temporary fix, I've pointed your submit URL to another JotForm domain. This should work fine for the meantime until we find a permanent fix on this issue.  In addition, please do check again your FTP server's settings if you wish to continue to integrate your form with your FTP server.  And please do inform us after you managed to integrate your form as there is a tendency that the form to where the form will submit will return back to the buggy one.

We'll keep you posted as well for fix updates.

    Thanks.

I can't see that this is a FTP server settings because the form is not integrated on my server side but on yours.  The form is only embedded in my site.  If I take the preview url of the form, It will still do the same.  How come ?

Thanks again for having a look on that ticket.  The problem is still unresolved.

If possible, do provide the settings used to connect to your FTP server. So that we may be able to test this further. As some FTP Servers may sometimes perform differently than others. This should allow us to assist you further. Thank you.

    @Revuesurglace

Hi, can you please also try re-embedding the form to your website http://cpachambly.ca/instructions-pour-les-patineurs-ayant-obtenu-un-solo/ using its iframe code.

    https://www.jotform.com/help/148-Getting-the-Form-iFrame-Code

Since you are using script embed and there are also other existing scripts in your website page, it is possible that they are conflicting. Using the iframe embed should isolate the form's script.

I did test your form again using its direct URL https://www.jotform.com/form/10084353079 and was able to make it work just fine.

Hope this help. Inform us if issue persist.

Just to inform you also, the ticket for this is still open Our developer will continue to check on this until fixed.

    Thanks.

    Hi Jonathan,
I will try the iframe but I would let you know that the direct form url you
took is not the same form as the one that is conflictual.
    Thanks !

    Hello Revuesurglance,

    To answer to your response:
    ----
I can't see that this is a FTP server settings because the form is not integrated on my server side but on yours. The form is only embedded in my site. If I take the preview url of the form, It will still do the same. How come ?
    ----

All data that you have submitted to via your website still forwards to JotForm.  With this, all settings you've made on your form here on JotForm will still validate the data submitted and then return the response to your website.  On this case, there is some setting on your FTP server which was rejecting the uploads made through your form.

As proof, the last time I tested your form on this site http://cpachambly.ca/instructions-pour-les-patineurs-ayant-obtenu-un-solo/, I encountered the problem that you were experiencing. It was then linked to an FTP server.  Today, I noticed that there is no longer any integration to your FTP server so I made another test on your website and as expected, my test submission went through. So there is no need for you to use iframe. Your form is now working fine.

In your response to Jonathan, the URL of the form http://www.jotform.com/form/10084353079, if this is not the form in issue (perhaps u'yore now using a different form), can you please provide us the correct form ID?

    Thanks.
