I get the message "Transaction refused because of an invalid argument. See additional error messages for details." after I submit cc info and as soon as I hit "submit." What am i doing wrong?

The Web page the form is embedded on is http://womensgrowthinstitute.com/Registration_Conference_Aug_2011.aspx.

    Hi,

According to Paypal's API Error Codes reference, the cause of this error is:

OrderDescription field is too long; maximum length is 127

Upon checking your form, I see two products or items in your payment field whose descriptions exceed 127 characters.

The solution I suggest is to shorten the item description to 127 characters or less.

Let me know if this helps. We look forward to your responses. Thanks!

    Regards,
    Neil

Hi, Neil. Unfortunately, this did not solve the problem. Since to have a payment method work, I had to revert last week from paypal pro to regular. So tonight, I delted that payment forma dn went back to the pro. After recreating all the conditions i lost from doing this switch, and then narrowing my word count to below 127, it still did not work. I eventually deleted the two products in question. But still getting an error: "Invalid Configuration; This transaction cannot be processed due to an invalid merchant configuration."
So now to prevent people from getting this error and not being able to register for our event, I have to switch yet again back over to the standard and then reset my conditions. This will take me at least another hour after I have already spent two. Please help me fix this problem. It is not worth paying the extra for this feature if I can't get it to work.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

Apologies but I wasn't able to replicate the error that you were getting. I cloned your form https://www.jotform.com/form/2823611245 and made a test submit and was successfully redirected to the Paypal transaction page.

I noticed that this form has the regular Paypal payment field and that you did not reduce the number characters of the two items I have mentioned in my first response.

Neil, you cloned the wrong form. That form was from a January conference. The one in question is the "WGI Conference: Celebrating Women/Healing Lives."

Since I could not get the Paypal pro to work last night, I changed it back to paypal regular where the user is taken back to paypal's site to complete the transaction. This is not what i want and is why I paid the extra to have the transaction take place on my site. If you can help me take this payment optin back to paypal pro and have it all happen on my registration page, then that would be awesome.

If it makes any difference to your cloning and testing, I have a few conditions set with the online payment in its parameters.

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi Jeanie,

I apologize if I cloned the wrong form. I was looking for something that resembles the form which was embedded in your page the last time, and that 's what I thought it was.

Anyway, I can't test the Paypal Pro integration on your form "WGI Conference: Celebrating Women/Healing Lives" if it doesn't have one. Can you please clone it for me and then have that clone switch over to Paypal Pro?

    To duplicate a form:

    1.  Go to My Forms
    2.  Right-click on the form that you want to duplicate
    3.  Choose Clone Form

Also, you mentioned in your previous post that you were now getting an error "Invalid Configuration; This transaction cannot be processed due to an invalid merchant configuration." instead of the original one which is "Transaction refused because of an invalid argument. See additional error messages for details."

Can you confirm if it happened right after I told you to shorten your item description?

    I'll await your response. Thanks!
