When people write and say they can't find the draft link, what's the best way for me to help them continue where they left off? The way we have it set up, with one form leading directly into a second form, the identities are not clear from the "Incomplete Submissions" of the second form. How do I know which form belongs to which person/email address for unfinished submissions? The Submission ID only clues me in to the identity of the person *after* the form has been submitted.

This is a re-post of a comment on How to View Incomplete Submissions in Jotform Tables

    Hi,

You need to provide a field for user to fill in their user name, and set it by 'Required'.

    Thank you so much!

Is the incomplete submission link identical to the draft link?

If I open incomplete submissions to peek at the name and someone else has it open, do I risk erasing their data?

    Thank you.

    Hi,

Unfortunately, it is not possible to view the Incomplete submissions in the Table format. To view the incomplete submissions, you need to view each submission separately.

Let us know if you have further questions.

    Hello Jong,

Thank you, but that isn't the question I was asking. I was wondering if I view an incomplete submission, do I run the risk of overwriting the original data?

Only if you submit the form with the same URL that was sent to the form filler.

    Hi,

Please take a look at our save and continue later feature:

I hope this helps and please let us know if you require any further assistance.

    Have an amazing day.

"Only if you submit the form with the same URL that was sent to the form filler."

Thank you Tommi! So, if I pull up the incomplete submissions and do the following:

    —Click View

—Copy the URL of the view window

—Immediately close the view window without hitting submit or save

—Paste that URL to an applicant in an email

Then that URL is essentially the same as the draft link for that applicant? Since my form is a multi page save and continue form, and these draft links seem to go to the first page rather than the page they left off, do I need to tell them to keep hitting next until they get to their stopping point? If they hit Save on the first page, will that erase the data on the following pages or does that not matter? Any other advice I can give to anyone using these links?

    Thank you so much!

    • Yes, the draft should save all filled by user fields.

do I need to tell them to keep hitting next until they get to their stopping point?

    • The save link should move the user to the page where the save button was clicked. It could be every page.

If they hit Save on the first page, will that erase the data on the following pages or does that not matter?

    • No, the data on the other pages keeps safe.

Any other advice I can give to anyone using these links?

    • The main thing here is to keep the link safe and don't change/corrupt it. If they entered new information - they should click the "Save" button again and get a new link.
