    Duplicate submission in Chrome

Asked by nitehike on March 07, 2014 at 06:51 PM

Can someone help me out? I have an activity registration form at http://nitehike.org/stationreg.php where Scout groups can register a site for an activity, and it provides data back to my table via webhooks. Unfortunately, it seems that in Chrome, and ONLY in Chrome, I receive duplicate submissions (as currently shown at Site 28), which results in two entries being sent over via webhooks.  I tried setting the group name as unique, but the form remembers my submissions from previous years (even though I've deleted them) and won't allow anyone from the same group that has registered in the past to submit a form. Help?

    Hi,

I can't seem to find the form on the provided page. Anyway, can you provide a step by step instruction on how to reproduced the problem, if possible? If that's not happening on any browser then I suspect the problem is related with your script. Honestly, this is a bit complicated since we do not have access with your script. What we can suggest is to do trial and error. Try eliminating parts of your script and run a test. It might help you figured out the problem.

May we also suggest you to please check this article: http://www.jotform.com/help/245-Creating-your-first-Webhook-with-JotForm. You might be able to grab ideas and information.

Webhook Samples can also be found here: http://www.jotform.com/help/248-Webhook-Samples?

    Thanks!

Sorry, if you click on any of the site numbers, it takes you to the form. Unfortunately, I'm getting the duplicate submissions before I even added the webhooks or tied it into my map or anything else at large...but seemingly only on Chrome. This form is live now, so I can't really make any big changes to it at this point.

    Hi,

I test submitted the form using State #28 and was successful (using Chrome browser)

I then checked the submission data. From the result, I was not able to see duplicate entry.

Was the group #28 duplication occured more than 1 occassion already?

It could also be a temporary glitch on the side of the form submitter at the time.

If it consistently send duplicated submissions, we can try investigate which process is consistent to reproduce it.

Hope this help. Kindly contact us again anytime if this issue persist.

    Thanks!

Hm. Alright. Thanks anyways. When I was testing the form and webhooks before I made everything live, I was getting them semi-regularly, with various groups and sites, posting at exactly the same time, but with unique submission ID's.  I wish I could set a unique field within x amount of time (ie the last 6 months) to avoid duplications in a short time.  Maybe for next year I do some form hacking and build my own verification.

    Thanks!
