Why aren't my forms going into the secure folder?

Asked by rabbivogel on July 18, 2011 at 08:31 PM

For a while, my forms were going into the secure folders (with an https URL).  Now it is showing that they are going into the un-secure folder and I am not sure why?  It seems that the number of submissions in hte My Accounts section is just per month, since the current total is around 200 but the entire total is around 280.  I checked my URL and it is still the secure one.  Any advice?

    Hi,

I logged in to your account and found 125 regular submissions and 92 secure submissions at the time of this writing. Can you confirm if you were receiving all secure submissions before?

If yes, please enumerate the methods you have employed to share your form. What is the url of the page where the form is embedded? What is the method (iframe, source, etc) you used to embed the form? Did you make sure that the secure form option in the Embed Form wizard is checked? Did you share the form through email?

Respond to this message with the answers to the questions I raised above so we can figure out what's causing this problem. We'll be looking forward to your updates.

Thank you and have a good one!

Before I changed the form to an https URL, all of the forms were going into the Submissions forlder (this was about 10 submissions).  I changed it to an https URL in the middle of June and then everything began going into the Secure SSL submissions folder, as I wanted it to.  For some reason, recently, the forms seem to be going into the Submissions folder, even though I have checked the links and they are still https.  Here is the link to where people click to access the form.  This is how the majority of the people are accessing the form.  I do think that a link was sent out with the link to the actual form, as opposed to a link to the website.

We have a total of 303 submissions for this form, yet it shows only 101 in the secure folder and 134 in the regular folder.  So:

    1. Why is that number not adding up to 303?  Is this the monthly total?

    2. It seems that some of the submissions are coming in as secure and some are coming in as unsecure (since these numbers are greater than the screen shot about).  Do you think that the unsecure ones are coming from the email with the direct link?  The link was an https URL.

I am not sure what this means: Did you make sure that the secure form option in the Embed Form wizard is checked?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

Thanks for all the information you provided. It definitely made things clear for me. The numbers that appear in your account status, as illustrated in the screenshot I provided in my previous post, are your monthly submission counts. That is the reason why it will never add up to the total number of submissions made on your form.

However, upon looking at your account status at this moment, I found out that the regular submissions has increased from 125 to 134 and your secure submissions from 92 to 101.

This means that there are people who fill out your form using the regular http link. Are you sure that the link you provided is the only way the form can be accessed? Did you not have the form embedded into another site or another page in your site?

I just checked both places on the website where it is located and they both linked to the https URL.  I checked the 2 emails which went out and both had links to the https URL.  This is a major concern for me, as families are entering their credit card information. If we can not figure out the issue, we will need to temporarily stop our online registration (and we still have about 300 more submissions to go).  Do you have any other suggestions?  I can also be reached at 310-459-1569 x 275.

    Hi Carrie,

I think I may have figured it out. The submissions indicator on your account status shows the total submissions for the whole month, secure and regular submissions included.

The submissions count on my first reply to this thread was 125 total and 92 secure. On my second response, there's 134 total and 101 secure. As of this writing, another 1 was added on both the total and the secure submissions, resulting to 135 and 102

If you look closely, you would notice that there are as much increase in the (total) submissions count as in the secure submisisons count.

    125 - 92

    134 - 101  9 new submisisons

    135 - 102  1 new submission

Sorry for the confusion as I have misinterpreted the numbers.

Hope you now find this explanation satisfactory. Let me know if there's anything else you need help with.

Thank you and have a great day!

So you are saying that all Secure Submissions are counted as both secure and in the total number of submissions?

Yes, that is correct. You can monitor the activities in your account status to find out if it rings true. Your Total submissions and secure submissions count should always have a difference of 33.
