Question about the JotForm Integrations

    Hello!

I printed out the "Complete Guide to Electronic Signatures Guide". I am a little confused as to why you would need a 3rd party such as docusign, adobe sign, etc. Can you explain that process to me?

    Thank you,

    Makenna Moen

    Hi there,

To answer your question, you can use those apps as an option when you're taking an e-signature.

They're the ones responsible for securing your every use of their app or widget. They provide additional security for the data that you're taking from your users. Though if you're the one taking the signatures for your form, you also have the option to use our own Jotform E-Signature widget. This is the best option to use with your forms here.

I hope this answers your question. Feel free to reach out to us again if you need further assistance. Thank you!

Okay. What do you mean by, "...if you're the one taking the signatures for the form..."? And do we pay JotForm fee as well as the 3rd party fee?

Okay! And what do you mean by, "...if you're the one taking the signatures..."? And how does payment work? Would we be paying the Jotform fees on top of the fees of the 3rd Party?

Hello Makenna - What my colleague meant is that if you are the one collecting the signatures, you have the option to use those 3rd party services. And yes, it will have its own costs. For example, you're on a paid Jotform account and using e.g. Adobe Sign, that's two separate subscriptions, so you'll have to pay for both of the services/apps.

Basically, you can just use our own E-signature or Smooth Signature field as these are free of charge. Because usually, form owners who use DocuSign or Adobe Sign have their own document in these apps. They only want to use Jotform to collect the signatures and have it passed to the existing document in the said apps, so I guess using them (apps) will always depend on your requirements/workflow.
