How can I adjust the size of a text area so that it allows 500 word maximum length?

In a a scholarship application template, there is a text area for an essay question answer that allows 500 word maximum. I can't find instructions on how to set that up. I need to access "Entry Limit," "Columns," and "Rows."

You have to clone that template so you can edit that form in the form builder. While on edit mode, click on the text area field and set  the columns, rows, word limits on its properties.

    Hope this helps!
